I read 2 posts about NVC steps and all the documents necessary.

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/How_to_bring_your_foreign_spouse_to_live_in_the_US

and

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse

both are very helpful( I am the beneficiary living abroad for I-130 application)

Now; as far as I see I need to send some documents to my spouse so she can send the IV package to NVC. Is this correct?

So I need to send her via postal service :

1. 2 passpart photos,

2. signed DS-230 form part I,

3. unsigned DS 230 part II,

4. passport photocopy,

5. birth certificate( is this supposed to be translated to ENglish?)

6. police certificate(is this supposed to be translated to ENglish?)

Is there anything else I have to send her?

Thanks for the info, I did not know about the cover letter. I just wrote one using the sample and sent it to my husband. He already paid the affidavit bill but I don't know if they've accepted my choice of agent, I emailed it to them. I am assuming they did since my husband was the one who got the instructions for further actions. IDK, is there a prove that NVC sends you that says they've accepted your choice of agent?

yes, he was accepted. Now he has to pay and gather all the documents needed. The cover letter is good to track what documents you have send. It is also easy for NVC.

He did pay the bill already and has the affidavit with supporting docs. How do we know if we can send it in? Will NVC tell us we can send in the Affidavit? Do you also scan it and send it to nvc inquiry email along with sending it by mail? Would it help for it to process faster?

No they don't tell you. When you have all the documents, you will send it to them. No, it would not help you to scan it to them. Did you received any email stating you can scan it? if not don't do it. Just tell your husband to send it with confirmation. Also remind him to make copies of all documents

Thank you! We have the affidavit papers filled out...but do we have to wait till nvc sends the affidavit of support package to my husband's email? And then send it in?!!! Please let me know. Don't you have to have some sort of permission from nvc to send it in?

You can send your AOS package to NVC as soon as the status on the online portal says "PAID". You can wait for instructions, but you'd be wasting time.

Thank you x 1000000 for that info :) I will do that and not wait for the actual package which they would send to his email. Thanks!

You're welcome. Just make sure to print out the barcoded cover sheet from the payment portal and put it as the first page on your package.
