Hello folks,

My case is kind of different. My father sponsored me for I-130 and AOS while I applied for I-485. I'm going through the CSPA application since I came here in the US ahead of my whole family as an F-1 student(My OPT will expire Dec 2012). I've been looking for answers online but always seem to end up reading cases about K-1 or fiancee sponsorship.

My question, I have a biometrics appointment this coming July 2. So after that, what happens next? I'm aware of the FBI background check for fingerprints and taking a picture. Specifically, when do USCIS reach to a decision whether to approve or deny my I-485 application. How about the time duration before I get a green card if my application was approved? Any answers would be helpful.

May 24, 2012 - Sent I-485, I-130, AOS and related applications

June 6, 2012 - Fingerprints fee was accepted and online case status updated to Initial review. Same time I got the I-797C notice

June 20, 2012 - Got my Biometrics appointment scheduled for July 2

After biometrics you wait for 4 - 8 weeks for an appointment. That average -- some take less time, some take more. There's really nothing in the meantime. Just waiting and you won't see any status updates online.

The online status update is the last thing I will check. What kind of appointment are you talking about? I know for one that the K-1 visa do interviews about their marriage.

Just curious - are you eligible for CSPA ? When your I-130 was submitted ? After biometrics you are waiting for adjudication of your I-485...Somewhere between 3-6 months...
