Hi

It is written that we need to provide one or more of the following -

The USCIS now requires that when filing an I-130 for a spouse that you include evidence of a bona fide marriage. They list examples of acceptable evidence as:

1. Documentation showing joint ownership or property; or

2. A lease showing joint tenancy of a common residence; or

3. Documentation showing co-mingling of financialresources; or

4. Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, thepetitioner, and your spouse together; or

5. Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havingpersonal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship (Each affidavit must contain the full nameand address, date and place of birth of the person making the affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner ofbeneficiary, if any, and complete information and details explaining how the person acquired his or herknowledge of your marriage); or

6. Any other relevant documentation to establish that thereis an ongoing marital union.

We recently got a Joint account made so the statements of that, however really new, is it acceptable enough?

We can get affidavits from friends, family etc. But is there any specific format? We are based in India so on a stamp paper can we get the same done? If yes what amount should the stamp paper be of? And what content do we display in this? Please help

Apart from this we dont have kids and the house is in my husband's name. We might be able to show inter mingling of financial resources like amount transfers from his account to mine and vice versa.

We have a letter from the society stating we are married and stay in this house since the day we got married.

What other docs can be provided for the same?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

Sanchita

What about joint bills, or at least bills in individual names going to the same address?

- Being listed as nexct-of-kin at work for on life insurance?

- letters/ card congratulating both of you on the wedding.

- Photos of the wedding, as well as your time dating and after.

-If you are newly married, a new joint account is good enough. If you have been married for some years but did not have a joint account all these years, then getting one just for this period may look a little off-key. Maybe others can shed more light on this.

-Affidavits can be done on a Rs.20 stamp paper and then notarized. There is no specific content except that those who are giving the affidavits should state their names, addresses, their relationship to you and how they came to know about your marriage and that your marriage is genuine and true.If you look up ***removed***, you may see specific formats, but use them only as a template.

--Any documents showing intermingling of finances is fine.

--Insurance documents listing each other as beneficiaries should be great to have.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for the info.. Yes we have a joint bank account, taking cheque books and statements of the same.

We have affidavits notarised by lawyers too with us.

We are heading to Delhi coming week... Wishfully hoping that this is way easier than we think :)

Thanks again we need your best wishes! :D
