Hello, so today I got a text telling me that my case has been updated and to check "My Case Status." And this what I got.

"Request for Evidence

On June 23, 2012, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

Little nervous now on what it could be. Because We sent in everything we had. Any idea on what they usually ask for on a RFE? Hopefully doesn't take to long to get the hardcopy.

without knowing exactly what you sent, it is difficult to speculate on what they may want or need. Please tell us what you sent with the petition

it's hard to guess. wait until the letter comes.sometimes if you call the costomer service number thay mite tell you.any way did you send a copy of yourus passport al pages or a copy of your birthcertificate both sides if not in english then it needs to be translated in to english the same with the marriagecertificate,i hope it;s some thing simple.

I didn't send a copy of both sides on my birth cert and marriage cert. There is only one side back side of my birth cert is blank. And the Marriage cert back side is same as front just in different language. Everything in English. Yea, I hope its simple.

Hi, what do you mean they wanted the marriage cert? like the original? isn't it part of the package to send a marriage cert with I-130?

If you are US citizen, you need copy of your US birth certificate or naturalization certificate, and if you are greencard holder, you need to provide copy of your green card (front and back). That's the only thing I can think of.

it could be anything so i would wait for the letter.....but...i would think that they might want a copy of your passport. especially if you went to visit your spouse. i hope it's something easy tho and it won't delay you too long. at least you know they are working on your petition.

People may get RFE for different reasons.

Based on your responses, I can think of three reasons.

a)Proof of US Citizenship by birth or by Naturalization ?

b)Bonafide Marriage (affidavit from relatives/friends)?

c) The photo of the Petitioner and Beneficiary is as per the required format?

I am curious to know once you get the RFE, please share the info.. May be it will be helpful for others. Good Luck!

The OP is filing for IR1/CR1. If the OP is a green card holder, he cant file for IR1/CR1 category..... If he is a greeen card holder then it will be a different category.... I believe it is F2...

So, he must be a born US citizen or Naturalized US citizen. Period.

If you are US citizen, you need copy of your US birth certificate or naturalization certificate, and if you are greencard holder, you need to provide copy of your green card (front and back). That's the only thing I can think of.
