Hello everyone we got RFE (asking for foreign language marriage certificate) and we submitted on 26th march 2013,they have received on 2nd April, below what they have update on my case status.I cannot understand below highlighted line can u guys explain me plz.

On April 2, 2013, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Once a timely response to the request for evidence is received by USCIS, we review the evidence or information you submitted. If you submitted the requested evidence, we continue with the adjudication of your application or petition in light of the new evidence.

Hiring a lawyer have it Pro & Cons. Good about lawyer is, you can sleep at night and knowing your journey is done correctly. Bad side of this is he doesn't work as hard your case as actual person whom filing it.

There's a guy on NVC, believe it March or April thread, he fired his lawyer.

It just saying they have received your documents and are in the process of reviewing those documents, which can take up to 60 days but cases by cases are different, meaning could be a week, some others are more to get an approval but the worst is to get a second RFE. At this time you can't do much but to wait.

This doesn't mean it will necessarily take 60 days. But it could. Usually it doesn't take that long.

I agree with you. Essentially a lawyer does the same we all do. The task is daunting, but I say as long you keep organized and read the English instruction to follow, what can a lawyer do different.

Even with a lawyer people receive RFE. Just my opinion.

And I don't like being with the April NVC. Its eerie reading all the stuff gone wrong.

I want smooth sailing through the NVC stage. I had no RFE with USCIS.

It's very simple process if you want to avoid RFE.

* Carefully read & follow instructions for each form you about to submit. All requirement of course, pay close attention to what they wants and DON'T be creative. Seen and read through many of threads always have 1 or 2.

* On your free time, hop on VJ and read others journey ahead of you see what others people has encounter or any problems may arise similar with your case.

END.

Happy Journey!!!
