Hey everyone sorry that I'm posting on this. I'm learning my way around the website. I'm the American Citizen filing for my wife in Morocco.

I filed I-130 in April 2012 and got priority date May 8th. I filed I-129F in May with priority date June 14th. I-129F was finally approved August 20th. We can breath alittle now...!!!

So we all will go from K-3 Spouse Visa to CR-1 Spousal Visa...???

was your approval only for the K3?; that doesn't sound right, the last few cases I have read about here get approval for both K3 adn CR1 and then the K3 gets closed at the NVC.

either way congrats!! Glad to see approvals from VSC for a May filer.

Hello everyone!

I'm joining this website a little late hehe

We sent the form I-130 the last day of May, but it was received on June 4th, so I guess my case belongs to this thread

I have to say that I am still a little lost about terms and the times that take from one step to another, and I just found this website and wow, it's so cool to see that people help to each other and somehow I feel better that we are not the only ones on this boat

But I am willing to participate in this forum :)

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

P.S. How do you know if your application has been "touched"? sorry, I don't know how to get that info

Create an account on the USCIS website then add your case, you can also add mobile and text alerts there, I had sent the enotification form but for some reason it was off when I checked so I was able to activate it myself.

An updated trend chart from USCIS regarding the applications received vs. pending vs. processing. I start to see some light at the end of the tunnel (holding back to make sure I don't get my hopes too high).

It looks like the trend is getting better, received applications went down from 11k+ to 9k, and completed applications are at a rate they havent been since last Dec (when VSC was doing good).

This is good news. Igor's List shows that over 50% of March's Visa Journey applicants have already received approval. I'm rooting for April to start getting some approvals soon. I wish there was a :crossed fingers: emoticon. lol.

Hello. You can type your case number in the "check case status" box. Many times, there will not be any updates on each case as I learned from others. Our case sat there with no noticeable touches until we were approved. Our times were June 4-Aug 14 for approval, and now waiting for a case number at NVC.

Click on the Wiki tab at the top of the HOME page to see what you need to get documents ready to assemble for NVC, if you haven't already done so.

Good Luck.

Well today I got an e-mail that my case was "updated" so I log in to the USCIS website and of course it's an RFE! I have to wait for the letter to come to find out exactly what it is- I hope nothing complicated. Even though it's an RFE I am actually relieved because that means that they are looking at my case and it's not sitting in a room somewhere gathering dust!

I hope you all hear something soon! I will keep you updated about the RFE

"Touched" means that they (USCIS) accessed your case, so it could be that they were reviewing something, or adding information, or any reason for them to open your file. RFE means Request for Evidence, so once they are reviewing your case at any time they can ask for more information if what you provided wasn't enough- such as providing enough evidence to prove an ongoing relationship, or it could be simple things like you forgot to a sign a paper or you are missing a paper, etc. RFE is generally (I say generally because you can still be refused) the step before you are approved. Not everyone gets an RFE, but they are quite common from what I have seen. I hope that answers your questions.

It will also show up as a touch when your petition has been assigned to someone or, in some cases, unassigned from someone. From what I have read and been told, it is common also that you may only see 1 touch the entire time your petition is being processed.

Also, a very important one is TLA - This is a very common term that we all live by here.

TLA or 'Three Letter Acronym' is what lets us speak in code so the USCIS officials don't know that we know what they are up to. ;)
