Not sure but I remember embassy has stop put visa sticker on your passport, reason was you will lose entire page of your passport and for those that travel alot could be a problematic. So once you're approve, CO will give you back your passport and they will take self paid envelope from you and send the visa in the mail ( this will be up to Embassy schedule ).

IR-1 Will face lots of tough questions on most part of countries because of fraud, so be prepare for the most ridiculous question they will ask you and don't be shy answering them or get emotional with CO because they will denied your visa if they detect fraud. Interview doesn't stop there, remember you still have another interview once you arrived in USA and this time it will be with your hubby, likely questions they ask you before will be in record and if you answer differently than what your first interview you will have a problem and let me tell you these CO are highly trained how they ask those twisted questions.

My hubby not travel with me,he is in USA, once i get visa i have to travel alone. So how he will face interview with me?

You receive a conditional GC for two years. After the 2 years YOU and YOUR hubby have interview. After this than your receive your unconditional GC.

I have never gone through this, but READERCHOICE is correct.... Don't think this far ahead.

Answer all the questions to the best of your knowledge....if you don't know the answer....tell the officer....Never make anything up.

This just isn't true. Most people receive their 10 year GC without ever having an interview, and certainly without the USC being interviewed.

Hi we're just about to file this july 2013, any tips and idea? And to make it fast? Shall we need to get an attorney? Thanks

I've seen you filed for K-3 visa. Its my understanding this is one visa the spouse can enter as NON-immigrant and you file for Adjustment of Status Form I-485 once inside the U.S.

Everyone on this forum filed through the embassy of their country. We all started with the I-130.

But if you do this, you disqualify yourself for K-3 visa.

Not sure what direction you go.

Ours been: Form I-130 ...DS 3032...Form I-864....DS 230...Medical...Interview

This is for when spouse stays in home country until process is finished.

Okay...than we have different opinion on this one.

My opinion is that the GC is conditional for 2 years (to proof that the marriage is bona fide)

People who divorce before 2 years lose their right to the GC (unless they can proof hardship (like abuse) in marriage and file for U5 visa...

Parents of US citizen receive unconditional GC. But this is solely my opinion.

Not true - you file the I-129f for the K3 concurrently with the I-130 for the CR1, however now that I-129s are taking similar time frames to the I-130s the K3 is essentially defunct.

It's not an opinion - it's a fact.

I'm not arguing that the GC is conditional, however even if you diovrce as long as you can prove the mariage was entered into in good faith and file the appropriate I-751 waiver with evidence you do not lose your GC.

Please do some research before you spout incorrect information, and if you arent sure it's probably a good idea that you don't guess.

Essentially you said the same thing. Not everyone can proof they entered their marriage in good faith. Its easier for petioner to simply say before 2 years time he/or she was taken for a GC ride.

The I-129 is for the K-3 to enter as NON -immigrant...Than you immediately file for Adjustment of status.

But if you solely file I-130 with beneficiary still out of the states...the route is different.

Both of which require evidence. A GC will NOT be revoked if a waiver is filed. They will not 'take it `away'without an appearance before an Immigration Judge. It is far more complicated than that.

This is true, the I-129 for the K3 is for a non-immigrant. However the K3 is unique in that you did NOT immediately file for adjustment of status. In the past you had to wait for a visa number to become available This is why the K3 is now outdated - because a visa number for the spouse of a USC is immediately available now. There is no point on entering on a K3 and adjusting status when it is a longer process than just filing the I-130 - anyone who thinks this is the correct route should be set straight.

And on that note, I'm unsubscribing from this thread - since I now have my visa.

Toodles!
