We have to look at the bright side. Eventually we all get approved. Our I-130 only confirms who we are !!

I hope after this Thanksgiving weekend we have some result.

Called USCIS today to file a service request as today is the 5 month 1 day mark. I was told that VSC is still working on May and it will be about 20 days till they get to my petition, PD June 4th. So

Congrats Cesar & Cata!! Hopefully we will be hearing something in the next few days. Our PD is June 4th!! But when I called they wouldn't let me put a SR in as they were supposedly 20 days behin

DCF is Direct Consular Filing. Where the USC lives abroad and the I-130 is therefore sent to the USCIS field office at the local consulate. Much MUCH quicker than filing to USCIS in the States.

Tried to file an E-request today and they are saying that PD of June 4th is still within normal processing time.

Relationship and I-130 Process

Sometime in October, 2011: We met online talking about Argentina.
Later in October: Met in person in Philadelphia and became good friends.
March 4, 2012: Became girlfriend and boyfriend, officially.
March 21: Gloria leaves the US at the end of her J-1 Visa.
April 9: Got engaged!
May 12-26: Chris visits Buenos Aires.
May 18: Got married in Argentina :) Happy day!!
May 29: Sent out I-130
June 4: NOA1 received.
August 17-20: Chris visits again.
September 22-29: Chris 3rd visit, Gloria's birthday!
November 11-January 5: Chris stays in Argentina almost 2 months, Gloria is happy!
December 28: NOA2 YAY!!!
December 31: Package received at NVC.
January 18, 2013: Got case # and IIN.
February 6: Case complete!!
February 11: Interview assigned.
February 25: Package received at Embassy in Buenos Aires.
March 18: Interview Approved!!
March 28: Visa received.
March 29: Houston POE

April 11: received greencard!!!!!!!

January 9, 2015: sent out form I-751

Ya. Everyone is still within normal processing time, apparently. They are running at about 6-7 months right now. We'll just have to wait. They told my wife to call back in 14 days the first time we called because we were past 5 months, and then when we called back they said to wait another 24 days to call back because they were still working on the same day they told us before. but someone on this forum said that when they tell you they are working on a specific date, what they mean is that they are working on applications received two weeks before and two weeks after that date. So we'll be waiting a while yet. May 14th just means they are working on May files apparently.

03/23/2022: Application for passport submitted at USPS facility under standard processing.

04/04/2022: Status changed to “The U.S. Department of State has received your application for your passport book on 04/04/2022. We're now reviewing your application and supporting documents...Your application locator number is 51*******.”

04/04/2022: Check for passport cashed.

05/03/2022: Status changed to "The U.S. Department of State approved your application for your passport book. We're now printing your passport book and preparing to give it to you. You should receive your passport book on or around 05/09/2022."

05/05/2022: Passport Received.

05/09/2022: SSA Citizenship Status Updated.

05/25/2022: Naturalization Certificate received in mail.

Okay, reality for me means I don't get home until well into January.

Every paperwork thereafter amounts to time.

The final interview date takes time.

Germany is having too many holidays. Consulate is closing down too.

I feel despair.

I don't feel despair I just feel annoyed that the avg for the SC should reflect 6-7 months processing time not 5.

I don't mind waiting, but I hate waiting an undetermined amount of time and not being able to get a straight answer when I am asking for the status on a service I paid for. Only another week and a half until our six month mark.

My despair amounts to the chain reaction this creates for me. I'm here on a suitcase...

I wondered if they count only weekdays. I have a black Friday humor today.

Lets keep our hopes up for next week.

I never disliked holidays and weekends as much as I do now (LOL)

They only update the "date they are working on" once a month.

Well, it seems VSC approved 4 more VJ I-130 filers on Friday!! That's kind of a relief. At least I know they are working on them, now! :)
