As in my other post, I am from the US and my husband is from Cairo, We received the I-130 approval in the mail about a week ago. I was wondering about how long it will take for him to get his interview. Then how long after the interview will he actually be able to come here? I have heard of people having the interview waved, does this mean it speeds the prosess up for him being here? Also, there was a woman at one of the places he was submitting forms for that said that she knows of a way to speed up things for us since i am pregnant (due sept. 3) and if we show my proof of pregnancy that she could make it a shorter time, has anyone had this happen? or heard of it?

Any answers would be awesome!!!!

Pregnancy doesn't speed it up. No one, not even a congressman, can wave an interview. Lawyers can't speed up the process. Your husband should be persistant and hope he can get an interview date soon.

Good luck

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.

Thank you so much, well our lawyers handle all of the sending of forms and we have the Packet 3 ready to send out and everything with the final fees done. So as soon as we hear back from NVC we can mail it that day. Were really trying to get this done as fast as possible so he can be here for the delivery!

Congrats on your NOA2.

Just wanted to make mention of one thing, in case you aren't aware of it. Sorry to say, but almost all men from MENA (Middle East and North Africa) countries get placed on AP (Administrative Processing) after interview. This can delay your husband's arrival by a couple months to possibly a year or more. Not trying to upset you, but it's probably unlikely that he will be in the US by the time you are due.

If you haven't already, check out what others from Egypt have been through. Their experiences and advice will be invaluable.

Best of luck for the rest of the visa process and for you, your husband and your baby

He will not be here in time for your delivery. Time to start on plan "B".

I was thinking about the timelines and you're right. I forgot to mention AP.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but to be honest it doesnt look good. There have been other pregnant women hoping for the exact thing you are hoping for. Pregnancy DOES NOT speed up the process. Also the interview CANNOT BE WAIVED... that is simply ludicris! Especially for a MENA country. Yes he may get the interview scheduled soon... but one must factor is the AP time. My husband had a relatively short AP but not all are so lucky. I do hope your husband recieves his visa in time for the birth of your child but I think a backup plan is in order. Also anyone saying they can speed the process up is highly questionable... just think about it... if it were truly possible wouldnt every one do it?

I know the the questions i am asking are not possible but i wanted to just see if anyone else had this happen or not, im not saying its likely but it dosnt harm in asking and getting advice. There is a couple that we know that did have it waved and he didnt have to have the interview and he is from Cairo, so it is possible just im not sure why or how this happend, he already has his american passport and everything. And i cannot add a timeline due to the fact it wouldnt be very accurate - because i sent in the papers to my lawyers and they mailed them from there so i dont know exact dates of when papers where sent. I just know approval dates.

You wouldnt get a US passport unless you are a citizen of the US....they must have their info confused or forms. I have NEVER heard of an interview waiver either. Has your lawyer got started on the NVC part of the process yet, and go ahead and call them and ask them for ALL the documents you will need. Lawyers can delay your stuff because they sit on it....why be in a hurry for something that doesnt affect you (and it doesnt directly affect them).

I hope you will get the info you are wanting and congrats on your pregnancy. I hope it goes well.
