Congratulations but there are people who have filed in December/January still waiting. The system doesn't work. I am only on month 2 since getting my NOA1 and I am going insane waiting. So I don't know how people who filed in December/January are still waiting. I'd be sending letters to my congressman. I did recently send a letter to the President regarding immigration and why people who are doing it the right way (by filing all this paperwork and spending hundreds and thousands of dollars have to wait, but illegal immigrates who have been here illegally are able to stay). Its the most frustrating process ever. I'm blessed enough that my fiance only lives 7 hours from me, but thats still a long way. But for people who have an ocean separating them, my heart goes out to them. It really truly does.

I hope everyone's journey is quick like this. Its not fun to be put through the stresses and heartache of having to wait months and maybe even years to be with the one person that you want to be with the most. Its painful. Emotional and physically.

04-01-2012: Engaged in Detroit, Michigan at Comerica Park!
USCIS
05-02-2012: Sent I-129F to Dallas Lockbox
05-14-2012: Received Physical NOA1
08-09-2012: Received Physical NOA2
Montreal Embassy
08-21-2012: Package 3
09-06-2012: Package 4
11-12-2012: Medical in Toronto, Ontario (Approved-Went Well! Tip: Make sure you have ALL of your vaccinations up to date when you go to your medical exam! It CAN delay things.
11-19-2012: Interview in Montreal (APPROVED!!)
11-21-2012: Received Passport and Visa Package Back From Montreal (DHL/LOOMIS OPENED OUR SEALED ENVELOPE! SENT BACK TO MONTREAL ON 11-23-2012 TO BE RESEALED)
12-04-2012: Recevied resealed Visa package from Montreal
12-23-2012: POE: Port Huron, Michigan (Everything Went Great!)
02-16-2013: Wedding Date! We're MARRIED!

07-29-2013: I-485 Ready for Interview to Be Scheduled!!! YAY!!!! (No EXTREMELY Long Wait!)

08-02-2013: Received Mail with Interview Date!

09-03-2013: Interview in Detroit, Michigan (APPROVED!)

09-04-2013: EAD/AP Approved! (Even though it no longer matters because GC was approved the day before)

09-09-2013: Green Card mailed out via USPS 2-Day Air

09-11-2013: Received 2 Year Conditional Green Card in the Mail

For all these crazy replies you are getting, I have a friend on my VJ profile from Haiti that was approved super fast as well. But now they are in AP, waiting on a second interview. It's been a long time for them. It won't be the same for everyone. But Haiti is one of the countries that applications are pushed through faster. Not a freak thing. You can look at Haiti timelines on here and see what I mean.

Congrats on the fast approval, and hopefully you can have your father healthy and happy at your wedding.

So many skeptics on here. I wish people would have a more open mind. GEEZ!

Wow! It's so good to hear someone say that. I have been feeling horrible for sharing this news.

You should not feel horrible. You got extremely lucky, and you should be happy.

It's the wording of your title that is mostly upsetting people, I believe. It's hard to claim the system works when there are so many people waiting up to 7 or 8 months for an approval when it's obvious that it can be done much quicker.
