So my husband is from Cairo and i am from the US, we have received the i-130 approval and expecting our first child September 3rd. I was wondering first off ABOUT how long it will take before we get the interview and he will actually be able to be here. Then, i was wondering if there is a possiblity that we might be able to speed the prossess up before the baby gets here in some way? Any help would be wonderful!!!

You have the normal processing time plus probably AP.

If there was a way of speeding it up I assure you everybody would be doing it.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

About 9 months or so. Some are quicker.

What is the normal processing time?

Cairo was really behind. I don't know if they're back to normal or if they are still experiencing a back log. It was taking about 1 year.

Babies do NOT expedite the process, sorry.

does he have a tourist visa?

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.

Even after the I-130 was approved it was taking a year before the visa is issued? No he does not since we are married allowing a tourist visa wasnt allowed because we couldnt show the proof of him returning back home if we filed for that.

The time lines quoted are usually from when you file to when you get the interview.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Actually no. If you're approved then you're looking at 3-5 months. That is if you don't undergo AP. So, september 3 is hard but not impossible.

Im hoping possible! He said there was a lady at the office he went to that said if i sent in proof of my pregnancy that she had a way she could possibly speed it up and possibly wave the interview, since we had all our paper work done by lawyers i trust its all done up to par so we shouldnt have any issues. We have a friend of ours who was able to get the interview waved, so if this happens will he be here sooner than that?

It would certainly be worth every penny.

If it was possible.

CR-1 interviews cannot be waived. Your friend may have come to the USA on a K1 fiance visa and have no AOS interview.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Interviews at US embassies are not waved. The AOS however....

No its not a K-1- they were married the exact day we were, infact the husband was one of our witnesses. So i am going to look into it more, because if there is a chance of any part of this being sped up even just a little i want to.

You must have misunderstood the situation.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
