Hi!

I came here with a k1 visa 2 month ago, and I got married a month ago. My husband and I decided to change my lastname and started using his last name.

I already fill for AOS with my new name but the point is that my passport has my maiden name...Am I going to have issues once I'm aloud to travel outside the US?

Im a little concern about that my greencard has a name and my passport another one...I was thinking about getting a new passport but my current one is almost new. My consulate in Miami (Venezuela) is closed due to political reasons, and the nearest one is in New Orleans. Paying a whole trip to replace a barely new passport cause of my name change I dont know if is worth it!

What do you guys think?

It's not a problem at all. Book the tickets in your passport name, and bring a copy of your marriage certificate along with your EAD/AP card when you travel. This scenario is extremely common.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Hola Andrea!!! I had this same issue before I became a USC.. I always traveled under my married name and just carried an old drivers license with my maiden name on it and never had a problem.

to this day my vzlan and US passports have different last names and when I travel to vzla they don't have a problem

I hope this helps!!
