I'm down!

I also love the word, "spinster"! So, I thought I'd post this too.

Anyone else fasting for Ramadan? UmmSqueakster used to do a Ramadan thread. Anyone up for it?

That light yellow is so pretty. I do tend to enjoy such a color variety. Since I had the soil of death in 4 of my 5 window boxes, I am considering dumping them and then replacing the soil and planting some seeds. We have until late november for a growing season.. i could maybe try a few tomatoes. I think they get more sun than I thought they would. I plan on trying a few bush squash. Maybe some marigolds and zinnias. We'll see what I have.

Bwahahahhaaa soil of death  What happened - bad bag of potting soil ?

I planted tomatoes, cucumber, zucchini, peppers, basil, mint and lettuce before I went to Jordan the last week in May. When I returned it had rained so much while I was gone, all my plants drowned and I had nothing left. This is the first summer ever I will not have a vegetable garden crying.gif

Awww suxxor :( No hopes of planting a late-season crop ?

We are getting so much rain this year that I haven't had to water too much - even with temps at 105 last week. This is very unusual - usually I'm out there with the hose every day or two. We're not even in a drought and it's July !

Thank you, msheesha!

I took her for her 9 month pictures yesterday. It's hard to tell in this picture but she has dark blonde hair just like I did when I was her age (it darkened to medium brown when I was a bit older). :) It really shows up in the new pics. I thought I was going to end up with a dark haired little girl but obviously I was wrong.

She is precious !

 Great! I'm excited b/c I haven't been able to fast for the past few yrs b/c of medical reasons. I'm giving myself the medical all clear this year, and am looking forward to the first year of my husband and I fully experiencing Ramadan together.

Good for you! This will be my first year fasting with a super, extra busy work schedule, so that will bring its own challenges too. I like to be getting ready for bed at about the time it will be to eat on worknights.

Thanks! I'm happy about it.

Have you ever been in Morocco during Ramadan? The closest I came was the Eid a few years ago, but not actually during Ramadan. I will start the thread now....

This is the daily thread or monthly thread? Hmm...confused, which for me doesn't take much with lack of sleep and being sick.

I'm leaving next week to go to Jordan for 3 weeks, hopefully with my husband in tow on the way home, but if I plant now I won;t be here to take care of the young plants. Oh well..there is always next year

I'm not supposed to fast because of medical reasons too. I will just take my meds and not eat or drink anything, except a little water with my meds, until Iftar. Ill be in Jordan the first 12 days of Ramadan.
