Hello everybody,

I had my interview yesterday in Ankara, Turkey. It was at 8:30am. There were two lines to get into the embassy, one for immigrant visas and one for non-immigrant visas. I got in the line. It was my turn to enter the building. There was one lady who got my passport, my medical exam results, bank receipt, two passport size photos and proof of relationship. She told me she couldn't accept all the proof of relationship. She told me it was too much and I had to pick. So I randomly picked some letters, phone records, some photos and some emails. She gave me a document I had to sign. It was about selective service and I had to sign it and give it to whoever interviews me. She asked me in which language I wanted my interview, I said in English, she gave me a number and then I entered the main building. It was soooo crowded. I waited like 45 minutes and I got called. I went and the lady at the window asked for the bank receipt. I told her I gave it to someone when I was entering the building. She found it in the file and said OK and I went back to sit. 30 minutes later I was called again and gave my finger prints. 20 minutes later I got called again and it was time for my interview. She made me swear with my right hand raised. She made me sign the 156K form and then she asked me;

Where did you two meet?

Where does she live?

How many times did she visit you in Turkey?

Have you met her parents?

Has she met my parents?

Were you nervous when she was meeting your parents?

What did your parents think about your relationship?

Where do you plan to live?

What kind of a job do you want to have in the US?

How did you propose?

When do you plan to get married?

Does your family want to go to the wedding in the US?

She said "OK, let me write this down because if I don't I will forget." She was very friendly. She typed for like 30 seconds, she then said: "Your visa is approved." She gave me some sort of receipt that I had to take it to the UPS table. I told my address to UPS clerk. I paid 17 liras. I was done.

I got out "oooopps" I forgot to give the selective service thing. I went back but she wasn't there so I gave it to the lady who was sitting next window. She put that in my file.

Finally I got my visa. Can't believe that I will see my fiancee so soon...

Congratulations Paz! We are still waiting for our NOA2. I have a question for you as a Turkish fiancee, can I apply for the Police records before I receive the packet 3 or do I need to wait for it? Thank you in advance and wishing you and your wife to be happiness!

Thank you Ceylo.

Police records can be obtained only in 5 minutes as long as you have 5liras. :) I mean I'd wait so that it has a closer date on it to your interview. But you can work on the proof of relationship and your American fiance can work on his tax forms. Visit this link It tells you what to do once you receive your packet 3.

Good luck!
