I attended the CFO seminar 2 months after we filed, which is 4 months before we got our approval.

If you attend the seminar somewhere in Manila (don't know which one though), it's more practical for you to do it AFTER you have your visa. This is because the office that issues the stickers is located on the same building, so it will save you an extra trip. For us attending the seminar and getting the sticker in Cebu, I don't think it saves time either way because we're going to have to make two separate trips, whether or not we have the visa on hand already.

In Manila St. Mary's does the sticker right there on site, PRISM you have to go around the corner and a couple blocks down the road to get the sticker.

Does anybody know if there is an expiration date for the CFO; like a rule that says you have to have taken the CFO within a certain period of time before leaving, etc.? My wife took the CFO back in January of this year so she could change her last name on her passport (and they actually did ask for the CFO doc at the DFA; good thing we did the CFO). We just submitted the I-130 in June with DFA, so that CFO completion certificate is gonna be fairly old by the time the visa gets approved. Thanks for any insight.

I checked the sticker and the certificate for my wife and neither has anything printed on them stating an expiring day, only the date issued.

No, there is no expiration date for the CFO certificate. Just make sure to keep it somewhere safe.

Chinook completed the CFO seminar at PRISM a few days before her Embassy interview.

After she received her visa, she went back to CFO main and got the CFO sticker.

OP--Yes. Inday completed CFO counseling and guidance session about a week prior to embassy interview. Then, after receiving K-1 visa in hand, Inday went to CFO main office to get CFO "sticker." This route/choice was taken/mae as a personal strategy in order to complete as many tasks possible prior to interview. In short, this allowed another one less thing do to after interview during Inday's busy time of preparing for departure to U.S. --RK

Yes, this is great info. Nice to know there is no expiry date. My wife did CFO in Cebu to get her name changed on her passport. We will need to get her stamp now.

Is there anything difficult about going to the CFO office to get the stamp? Is it located close to the USEM?

thx
