Sponsorship does not exist in the tourist visa category. While relatives or friends of applicants may offer to pay expenses, airline tickets, etc, that fact alone will not make an unqualified applicant suddenly qualified...each person seeking a tourist visa must convince the VO that there are stronger reasons for them to return to their country than to remain in the US and/or work without permission...no third party, whether relative or friend, can 'vouch' for the applicant, nor guarantee full compliance with our laws on behalf of an applicant.

There is no sponsorship of any kind involved in the tourist visa process. The applicant him/herself applies for the visa on their own accord.

Thanks for all your inputs. You guys are right, its really not required. Her parents passed without even asking for any supporting documents.
