If I caught my kids doing this I'd beat them. Wouldn't care if someone called Child Care Services. Where the hell has discipline gone these days?

spanking ? I had a girlfriend who's son was bullied at school.

She laid in wait for the bully, pinned him to the wall, got out a cigarette lighter and said if he did it again, she would set fire to his effing hair

It worked

I got a total of 27 hacks at school from the teachers and principle during the 8th grade (my all time best), only to be beat out by Mike Whitney's 30 hacks that same year.

I thought for sure I was going to get the record for that year and the jerk beat my by a lousy 3 hacks.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

It always does. No matter their age or social standing, nothing deflates a bully more than calling his or her bluff.

Direct and immediate action is always best.

It is one of those talented individuals who roam lot waiting for a show one writer short of a script.

I remain supremely unenlightened, but I can get by without an understanding of the phrase

A hack is to writing what a short order cook is for a restaurant. Studios have them on call, in case they need an extra writer to help sort out a script or change an entire scene, be it of a movie or TV show.

A "short order cook" being a cook who is under 5 foot 4 ?

My ancestors invented English 1,500 years ago and have been developing it ever since, but alas I cannot master the American version which has been changed by the addition of German and Italian and Polish and Yiddish and Congolese etc etc etc

ok well a hack is a good tempered horse which is quickly available in the same way as a hackney carriage (taxi) so I understand the term as being an object of handy utility

per wiki ...

Etymology:

It is believed that word originated from Hackney in East London, an area where horses were pastured.[2] Historically, the term dates to a time when carriage horses were used for riding. These animals were called "hacks" as a contraction of "hackney,"[1] and was originally used to describe an ordinary riding horse, particularly one for hire.

I shall now concentrate the rest of the morning trying to understand "frozen custard" and "crying uncle" and the constant references to "cool aid" and "kumbaya"

Shirley you dont mean we dont talk good in Amuhrikah!!

I was going to learn Spanish this winter but I realize I have plenty on my plate just learning American - or is Spanish the new American in which case I should keep the original plan

Anyway, back to the kids and the bus supervisor. She was doing a terrible job of supervising and doesn't deserve 600k compensation.

Whoever trained her is likewise incompetent

That does not excuse those kids who should be invited to a 4th July parade outside the main mosque in Helmand Province, Afghanistan

Ironically, that is where most of em will end up anyway given their likely educational achievements

Chances are she wasn't trained and couldn't care less. And no, she does not even deserve her own salary, IMHO, let alone compensation...
