I we got approval from the California CIS on Sep 21 (which was way faster than I thought) but the NVC has no record of our number yet. Is this normal? Should I be concerned that possibly it has been lost? My attorney does not seem to be concerned, however a good friend of mine recieved his 5 days after recieving his CIS approval....

CSC have been taking some time to send out cases to NVC. Some people have waited for as long as 5 weeks. You shouldn't worry, but keep calling (talk to live operators) and e-mailing NVC.

If you call the NVC about your petition, talk to an operator. The automated information does not include information concerning the K-1 or K-3 petitions because the petitions aren't there long enough to include in the auto system. Just keep pressing #5 until you get connected to an operator, she will tell you if and when your petition was forwarded.

I'm in the same boat with the same approval date. I called yesterday but they still have no record yet. Just keep checking with them.

When mine was approved on Sept 27 and sent to NVC, every time I called my number was never in the system. Then I got a letter in the mail saying it had been sent to the consulate on Oct. 10. Just remember...patience is key with this procedure (and maybe I should take my own advice hehe)

2010-02-08 Filed I-130 through Ca. Service center

2010-13-08 NOA 1 Received

2010-02-11 I-130 transferred to Tx. Service Center

2010-24-11 Notified by email TSC has received our petition and has begun processing it

Do not count on the phone calls to give u accurate information. I called once a week just to see if they had received the NOA2 and always got the same answer, "we have no record of ur case yet". I called them 10 Oct and againt he same answer. I called yesterday and low-and-behold, our case had been sent on 11 Oct to Manila and we have a case number. So how on 10 Oct did they not have our case and now on 16 Oct it was sent out on 11 Oct? I have had no luck finding our case on DHL either. My fiancee's is caling the Embassy weekly to see if they have received the case. Good luck. Payato

My NOA2 date is Sept. 20. I called NVC this morning. They said they had just received our application today.

I think you're likely to get to NVC soon.
