Last week we had my greencard interview.

The officer told me that we needed a co sponsor as he wouldnt accept my wifes tax records as she earned her wages in ireland not the US. So he told us that i was approved but we needed a co sponsor so we are using my mother in law. He then said expect the greencard in 2 weeks. I am sending in the required information tomorrow. We were busy all week and my day is a 14 hour trek as i started a new job in boston 2 weeks ago. Travelling from Hew hampshire to boston is a long commute.

We have her tax records for 2005. I have filled in the i-485 application form as well.

But i have some questions on the form its asks for a#, visa number etc. Do i just leave all these blank if we are using my mother in law as a co sponsor.

Did they issue you an RFE (Yellow page/document) for failing to meet 125% of the federal poverty guidelines at your AOS interview? We too needed a cosponsor, although we got an RFE in the mail for it. Correct me if I’m wrong but an I-485 is an Application to Register Permanent Residence is it not  ? We didn’t send in another I-485 as it wasn’t needed for an RFE cosponsor.

We simply returned the Yellow RFE document (DHS Lees Summit) that was issued along with a cover letter explaining that my wife could in fact meet 125% of the federal poverty line and if required her mother would act as a cosponsor. Each person filled out an I-864 Affidavit of Support and sent in all supporting documentation.

We submitted separate evidence for each person showing how each made 125% above the federal poverty line here in the US. Check Stubs, Bank Statements, Tax Returns, letter from employer stating how long they had been employed, their salary and hours worked. We also included further evidence to showing each person to be a US Citizen, photocopy of passport and or birth certificate. :P

I hope this helps! :D

I have to add, my wife sent in an I-864 with our AOS packet when we responded to the RFE we only submitted an I-864 for her mother.

I think you would put "NONE" in the space asking for the VISA #.

i blame this early starts for me in the morning  for forgotten about the i-134.:dance:

This prob sounds very confusing.

I just need a cosponsor to get my greencard, my mother in law will sponsor me. The officer in Manchester told us to mail in the i-134,copy of 2005 taxes and bith cert to their office.

Once he has them he will offically approve my application and then i will get my greencard in 2 weeks. Sorry for the confusion caused. We have had a lot going on recently.

I agree with Nemu, I think you have the wrong form again..

What you need is form I-864; we had used form I-134 when we applied for the K-1 Visa, if I’m remembering correctly  . I think I provided a direct link to the I-864 PDF in my previous post. You can find the form on the USCIS website if you don't already have it.

Good Luck! :)
