There are several threads like this one about getting the NOA2 approval, and the long delay in getting NVC case number (there are a couple of threads on this in the NVC discussion forums). I posted this last night about my case in one of the NVC forums....

Still no case number here - since May 9 and counting from CSC. Here is an e-mail I got from Carol Wieneke, who works for my local Congressman (yes, I started asking for his help)...

Here is my answer!

Hi Carol,

The I129F will be sent to the NVC in approximately 1-2 weeks.

The contractor is a bit backlogged in sending files out to the NVC, and are committed and will be making every effort processing cases in an expeditious fashion as soon as available under their resource constraints.

Thank you,

Immigration Services Officer l DHS-USCIS

So it looks like what Darnell said about this subject last week is right, the outsourcing to this contractor screwed the whole process up!......:bonk::crying:

Maybe contact your representative too. Can't hurt.

Well, as you can see, I am on 6 weeks, soon to turn into 7 weeks since my NOA2 approval. I at least got it confirmed that it is the fault of the USCIS CSC, and not the NVC, with the "promise" it will get to the NVC "within 1-2 weeks". I must say, I was impressed with the way my congressman's "Constituant Services Manager" got right on the case for me, and at least made the USCIS respond to her.

We received a notification from NVC today, notifying us the specific case number, location of US Consulate, priority date, etc.

Still need to check whether the package has actually left NVC. Nevertheless, this is good news!

Great news! I think NVC usually takes just a few days. You are on the way

Reading on all your responds kinda scared me. I've been trying to call NVC several times and they told me they couldn't find my case in their system and said they process normally in 16 business days. I called USCIS and they said if within 90 days I haven't heard anything then I can contact them back again regarding my case. I hope it won't take that long.

I would say the delay comes from USCIS, since we have been told that it now takes up to 90 days instead of the "30 days" stated in the notice. So call them every week (well, we called every day during our 5th week) and ask to speak to a supervisor/someone above the call representatives to check on your case status. Good luck!

Hello my name is Jeff, I applied to the USCIS and was accepted September 14th 2012 for a k1 visa. We were approved after 6 months. My fiance who is in the Philippines passed her medical at St. Lukes and we scheduled an inteview. She passed her interview and was instructed to expect her visa to the USA in 2-3 weeks. After waiting, we found out that her case was sent back to the USCIS in Vermont! I emailed the embassy as did my Lawyer, my fiance and myself. I called the NVC but was told they are nothing more than a secretary between the embassy in Manila and the USCIS.

Why after being approved and they took her passport and told to expect delivery of her visa in 3 weeks time, but our case was transferred back to the USCIS for further disposition. Can someone please HELP me to know what are the possibilities why this happened. We both meet all requirements, so there is no reason her visa was not issued. WHAT HAPPENED TO US. NEEDLESS TO SAY SHE IS VERY UPSET AS AM I.

i AM PLANNING TO MAKE MY 3RD TRIP BACK TO THE PHILIPPINES JUST TO BE WITH HER AS WE MISS EACH OTHER TERRIBLY.

IT IS NOT FAIR THAT LAW ABIDING CITEZENS ARE TREATED THIS WAY,, WHILE THE ILLEGALS ARE GIVEN THE RED CARPET!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE RELPY TO MY DILEMA, I CAN'T STAND THIS ANYMORE. THE ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE OF THE US GOVERNMENT IS INEXCUSABLE!!!!!!!

Stunt_V, don't freak out because you're not the only one going through this. Just check the VJ timelines and you'll see that not a single California case approved in September has reached NVC yet.
