The only person that needs to go is the person getting the greencard. I went along for moral support... and my hubby doesn't know his way around yet so I drove him and the kids there.

Also, they will only let the person who is getting the biometrics done into the "room" where everything is done, so I ended up waiting in the car. At least that is how they did it where we went

I'm a wee tad late in saying congrats too! Its been real busy with the animal shelter. Mega congrats to all you lucky ducks who got your greencards through. I am soooo delighted for y'all! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::D:D:D:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::lol::lol:

:dance: Man let me tell you some, It took me 52 days to receive my welcome letter (07-14-06)

so, if you have a good background, and never been in jail dont worry every thing will be done in 60 days. :thumbs:

Waiting (im) patiently here still! Never been in jail or had as much as a ticket for speeding before so hopefully it will be quick! :lol:

I-130 for both parents

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

March 11th 2014 - New case number assigned for my Dad.

March 20th 2014 - Paid IV fee for my Mum.

March 25th 2014 - AOS accepted by NVC with no checklist.

March 26th 2014 - Filled in and submitted DS-260 for my Mum

March 31st 2014 - AOS found in my Mum's file for my Dad - accepted and placed into his file/IV fee available for my Dad and Paid.

April 1st - Mailed all civil documents to NVC for both parents.

April 3rd: IV fee shows as paid in portal/submitted DS-260 for my Dad.

April 22nd: checklist issued for civil documents - NVC error ...

April 23rd: sent another certified copy of my marriage certificate

April 24th: Case complete! :)

April 30th 2014 - Medical scheduled for parents at Knightsbridge in London

June 11th: Interview at London Embassy - Approved :)

K1_Visa: I really am so sorry, I can't believe it's taking so long and don't even know what to say. :(

They really have been on the ball lately. I'm impressed. :)

We're in the middle of moving into that house we bought, so I have no idea what's up nor down right now. Anyone know if we need to notify USCIS of any address change even tho he has greencard in hand?

Tamarae yes you do have to notify the USCIS of and address change use the form AR-11 you can find it on their website i have had to fill out 3 of those suckers so feel free to ask me about it

Tomorrow's my biometrics. I hope it won't take much time. My husband needs to go back to work afterwards. He was on leave yesterday because of our trip to Arkansas so. Hay hay... really need to get this done so I can get the driver's license done :whistle:

I've gotten approved today for my K1 visa, so I went checking out the second step in this paperwork horror.

Can you use D.O.R.A. with a K1 or no?

It would be so typical if I can't, I've seen the backlog on the AOS and it isn't pretty... Looking at 13 months there. I'll be living in Plano, and that is right smack next to Dallas. I am going to marry my girl the 9th of december, so filing will be done asap after that.
