That sounds about right. I assume you've seen a transcript of the required order of items posted way earlier on this thread. Also that you know you need a G-325A for the USC as well as the beneficiary.

Other than that... I brought in a few photos of the wedding day. I noticed other people carrying bags with huge wedding albums in -- perhaps a little OTT methinks.

Good luck!

Heya DORA guys and gals!

Ciaran and I are making our plans for our trip next weekend, our appointment is monday morning, May 8.

Anyone have any advice for us?

Right now we're sorting through all of the paperwork, and intend to take 1 folder of the copies for USCIS and one folder full of the originals, in case they ask for them.

We've got the I-485, G-325A, and sponsor/cosponsor information, and all additional proof it requires.

I've set out our joint bank statement and we'll take a copy of our lease with both names on it as well.

Other than the fees, anyone else have any suggestions for us?

Thanks a lot, we're getting nervous and excited. Time to book a hotel!

Hi tamarae,

did you guys do the paperwork yourself or fif you go through lawyer?, was the paper work complicated?.

Racer, I get the impression you're debating on whether or not to get an attorney or not! - why don't you download the forms from the USCIS website? You can fill them in online, and get an idea of what they're asking for. We adjusted on our own, and it really wasn't that hard at all - even with my 90 day overstay, and my husband only recently being divorced. If you have any questions about what the forms are asking for in particular spots, there are plenty of people here on VJ who have copies of their forms who have already been approved and would be happy to tell you what they wrote.. me included!

:D

GeordieLovr - I know its your EAD appointment today - just wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you (and hoping you get denied (for the EAD!)- haha never thought I'd be writing that on here!!!!!

Hi everybody!!! Well.... What a waste this morning was. We decided to wait it out and not get the EAD. However, I thought we would get some sort of status update.... WRONG. When the man called our name we went up to the window and he asked for the EAD form and the money order. Peter said we aren't applying for the EAD and the man in a very RUDE tone said What are you herer for? At that point I stepped in and said We wanted to come just incase. Then the mean man said ok well that's it you can leave. He didn't even ask about the boys. Of course, when I saw who was at the window I knew we were in trouble. This was the same rude man from the last infopass appointment that almost didn't let us in. He argued with DH about the reason for us needing to talk to someone in the first place. This man should not be in any way working as a public anything. So, we don't know a thing. I thought for sure we would get some sort of status but no. Oh well....we will just wait...I will stop ranting now!...lol And thanks for all the goodluck wishes...hopefully we will hear something soon!

Hi everybody!!! Well.... What a waste this morning was. We decided to wait it out and not get the EAD.

Im just curios about the decision of not having the EAD. If i was you I will apply bouth for theEAD and the Advance Parole since you never know when your case is going to be approved.

Just my 2 cents.

Good luck

I understand what you are saying but....Filing for EAD and Advanced Parole for 3 people is too costly for us at the moment and even applying for 1 (at the moment). That was our reasoning... It's not the fact that we didn't get the EAD its the fact of the rude guy...We are more than prepared to wait... we would have just liked some sort of status or even a smile from the guy, not ok get out of my face attitude.

I can understand why you are pissed, may be you should put in a official complaint about his rudeness, you might not get a reply but atleast the department will be informed that he is being an as******.

I have a new question for you guys:

I know that DORA will adjust status for I-130 and I-485.

We are the I-485 version of it, since C came over on a K-1.

We have the copy of the NOA from the I-129F.

Do we have to fill out the I-130 and take that with us to the appointment, or the I-485 only and all of the other documentation asked for?

And in answer to previous question: We've done all of our paperwork ourselves thus far, nothing overly confusing at all. I agree with the suggestion to just take a look at the paperwork yourself and see if you think you can do it without an attorney. :)

Tamarae,

I had the same question. All you need to fill out is the I-485 only and its required documentation. We were the I-485 version also and DH entered on a K-1.

Thanks!

One more question...fees -

I read $325 for the I-485 and $70 for biometrics.. is that all or did I miss a fee somewhere?

Those have to be by cashiers check? And do we combine them into one check, or take 2 separate ones, or just what? How did you guys do it?

Thanks for the info, we've got our folder of paperwork all lined out :)

If I remember correctly it can be separate or combined - it doesn't matter. I did it separately: one for $315 (I guess it's gone up again) and another for $70.

I presume you've got everything else in the checklist? Beneficiary's birth certificate, evidence of comingling of assets etc.

Well... your list is a bit different from the one that printed itself out with our DORA appointment notice when we booked. We have his birth certificate (both original and a copy, him being the non USC).

I have problems with petitioner and benficiary in this sense coz as I read it he's petitioning for his own adjustment of status, tho he is also the beneficiary receiving the adjustment.. :P

We have a bank statement with both of our names and our apartment lease with both names, that's all that's comingled so far. Hope that is enough. We'll take a couple of pictures from the wedding as well.

Will we need my passport or birth certificate at all? (me being the USC). I did complete a G-325A for myself (as well as him completing his), will I need the passport sized photos that typically accompany that form?

Now I'm getting nervous :(

Hi Everyone,

We had the interview this morning and after the rain and going to the wrong place first it turned out great. The man who did the interview was very nice and only asked for a few things like our lease and bank info as well as all of the required docs. Now that I think of it I forgot to put my visa # in the box where it was asked for, but they do have a copy of my visa so that should be ok right??? He didnt notice and I totally forgot to ask the question while I was in there.

Im assuming that if the interview goes well it should be pretty much straight foreward or am I totally mistaken??

Thanks again
