My way of interpretation is that I need to have the letter gathered as I send out the package 3 and an interview will be scheduled within 30days...Any

misunderstanding?

Thanks

Jan,2008 we met each other for the first time
March 11,2010, I flew to Dallas to visit him. We started dating.
September, 2011, we made the most stupid mistake we could have, sending out packet I-129 application without putting in a single page of supporting document.
January 12,2012, we received our declined petition letter after 5 months :-(
January 20, 2012, I flew to Dallas to prepare the packet and sent out the fiance petition
January 23, 2012, we received our noa1
May 30,2012, we received our noa2
June 13,2012, Our case was forwarded to Montreal
July 4,2012, I received RFE
July 5, 2012, I sent out RFE
July 9,2012, Montreal received my RFE
July 16,2012, I sent out my Packet 3 (I did not call Montreal to confirm if they have sent out my Packet 3)
July 25,2012, I received my Packet 4 in email
September 4,2012 at 9:10 am, visa approved !!!
September 6,2012, Visa in hand
November 17,2012, POE in Chicago
February 09,2013, Wedding

March 16,2013, AOS package sent out

March 22,2013,NOA received.

January 31, 2014, Card production

Not quite. You will need to provide another, more recent one, at the time of your interview. Your interview will NOT be scheduled 30 days from you sending Packet 3.

Once you send out Packet 3 it will take 2-3 weeks for Montreal to log it as received, then a couple more weeks for you to receive Packet 4... I'd venture to say once you send out Packet 3, you will still over a month away from scheduling an appointment, which will most likely be a month out when you do.

Edit: typo.

Time to do research. The US embassy does not schedule interviews for K-1 people. You have to do it.

Have a look at the guides in the Canada forums please because everything is up to you and you alone after the NOA2.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I am a little confused by this as well...

Correct me if I am wrong-

When I sent in packet 3 I send in a signed and dated Letter of Intent by the petitioner at that time.

Then when I have my interview I bring ANOTHER signed and dated letter from the petitioner with that date on it.

Please clarify if you can :)

Correct. 2 letters with 2 different dates. Each signed and dated no older than within 30 days of them receiving it. Checklist for Montreal is available on their website: http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/visas/visas/fianc-k-1-visas/appointment-checklist.html

My now husband wrote the first letter stating that he was legally free to marry and that we were in love and he wanted to marry me. His second letter was basically that he is 'STILL' legally free to marry, we were 'STILL" in love and he "STILL" wanted to marry me  . It was cute :)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

 Cute!

Gotta love the redundancy of USCIS. And it doesn't stop with the K-1!

If your finance attends the interview with you, they may not ask for a new letter, but definitely have one just in case.

Both my fiance and I went to the interview and they still asked for the new letter of intent.

Montreal is CRAZY long for being able to book an interview. Don't plan on it being a month or even two months. We waited longer for the interview than we did from NOA1 to NOA2. We got our NOA2 in August and couldn't have our interview until the end of November.

Good luck. Read the guides. They are AMAZINGLY accurate. Whoever put them together needs a big hug from all of us!!

I am in the process of doing my package 3 as well.... no where does it say that I need to have a letter of intent submitted when mailing 3 in.... just that I will have one for the interview....

so what is it? most of you are saying yes, but i have the pkg3 pages open and it doesn't say anything about it....

anyone submit your pkg 3 without sending a letter of intent? if so was there an issue?

I recall only having a letter of intent with

1. The initial I-129F application

2. The day I attended the interview

Packet 3 does not require a letter of intent (unless they very recently changed the instructions); it merely instructs you to have one ready for the interview.

Packet 3 does NOT require a letter of intent. Only with the original I-129F petition and at the interview.
