SO, I'm getting all the packets ready for my wife's interview (which will be in 2 weeks); and I have been putting all documents in plain folders, with no metal rings or staples on them because I read somewhere that documents are not to be stapled. is this correct?

I'm just trying to put together the packets and one of them is about 150 pages (Affidavit of support) and it's difficult to keep in order if I don't staple it.. any suggestions?

Can I staple or not?

HI , well i believe that they would prefer that you do not staple. Use document clips instead which makes it easier to flip through documents.

and also keeps everything clean and proffesional looking. Good luck

I used a 3-metal ring zippered binder with clear plastic pocket folders. It worked well and my fiancee had no problems getting into the Consulate. Your wife will have to go through a metal detector. But that's okay because she will need to put her stuff in a plastic bin similar to the airport. I place the documents in an order of importance. The first document was the ones they will ask for first like the confirmation page. Then the rest. If you do this, then she would not fumble around to find any document the interviewer ask for. You can also use tabs to find the document very quickly. Be prepare and she will look confident.

 Good Luck!

I did not staple. I used paper clips.

Thank you !!! I thought I was not allowed a 3 ring binder, but that sounds like a great option.. thanks..

We used paper clips, and kept everything in a folder. Removable clips are the way to go.

They didn't wind up taking any documentation at the interview anyway.
