If you read carefully they imply but don't actually make the claim that all their poultry and beef are Canadian. Maybe they do elsewhere?

Seems pretty straight forward to me. I don't see how one could see that as an implication. But oh well. I could probably fly up there and check the immigration status of the people working in the poultry industry, and that still wouldn't be good enough for some people around here.

I'm sure we can trust the advertising industry!

LOL. Keep trying.

Maybe it's like US cars. Everything else is made in Japan except for the cupholders are made in the U.S. Then they can call the cars "Made in America" The Canadians are probably pulling something weird here. Maybe they are importing the chickens from U.S. farms where illegals are employed, and then giving them a beak transplant with a beak from a Canadian chicken. That way they can call them Canadian chickens.

I know, they bring them to canada and 'naturalize' them to canadian status.

Update:

(CNN) -- A 6-year-old girl, detained in Arizona on suspicion of entering the United States illegally, is now at a shelter in El Paso, Texas, as authorities try to locate a relative.

The girl, who told authorities she is from El Salvador, had to be moved to El Paso because there is no room in Arizona shelters for minors in her situation, said Jose Joaquin Chacon, the consul general for El Salvador in Arizona.

The girl was traveling with her mother through Mexico, Chacon said, but for some unknown reason the mother apparently turned her daughter over to smugglers at the U.S. border and separated from her.

Immigration shift sparks reaction from both sides

The unaccompanied child was detained along with 15 other people traveling in a van through Maricopa County late Friday, hours after President Barack Obama had announced a decision to stop deporting certain young illegal immigrants who have been in the United States for at least five years.

Land: Young immigrants 'a resource'

Child of illegal immigrants speaks out The people in the van were planning to make their way to a variety of destinations around the country -- including New York, California and Texas -- according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, known for his tough stance against illegal immigration, is a vocal opponent of President Obama's immigration policies.

"There was no politics involved in this," he said. "And when you have a 6-year-old girl, I think that's newsworthy regardless of what the circumstances are -- whether you call it an arrest or a detention."

For illegal immigrant graduates, a 'leap of faith as been answered'

A spokesman for the sheriff's office explained that the girl "was not arrested in the sense of handcuffed and booked into jail. However, she was detained in our custody and turned over to ICE officials."

After the sheriff's office handed the girl over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, she was placed in "the care and custody" of the Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Refugee Resettlement, said Amber Cargile, an ICE spokeswoman.

The girl ended up in El Paso, Chacon said.

Overheard on CNN.com: Decision to defer some deportations symbolic

Most of those detained were being held in jail, the sheriff's statement said.

Last week, Arpaio said that the Obama administration's new directive not to deport some young migrants was motivated by politics.

Arpaio said he would abide by the directive but continue to enforce state laws on illegal immigration as he sees fit.

The rule change will allow people younger than 30 who had come to the United States before the age of 16, pose no criminal or security threat, and have been successful students or served in the military to apply for a two-year deferral from deportation.

Individuals must be able to prove they have been living in the country continuously for at least five years.

Ughhh... well I'm glad the child is ok. The parents need to be in jail- in their country. God only knows what could have (or perhaps already has )happened to her handing her off to strangers like that. Unfortunately, they weren't able to read the particulars of the new policy. Since she hasn't been here 5 yrs obviously they'll have to track down her family and deport her.

It will end when you are charged $30 for a small chicken at the grocery store, so that all legal workers can get paid minimum wage to do those jobs no American will touch.

Maybe they SHOULD be $30 each, then nearly half of the nation wouldn't be nearing obesity.

Just sayin'

While in Alabama, you might want to ask the governor why his office intervened in this case to get the executive released swiftly w/o charges?

Because you're detained until you can prove you're in the country legally. If you can do that, no charges are applicable.

It's only if you can't that you are detained further, before being turned over to the Federal authorities.

But all that is a distraction from the point, which is that a non-Hispanic, non-coloured, non-poor person was detained. Probably the only reason we heard about it is that he was an exec from Mercedes and so a high profile case.

He is well known for his civil rights abuses. Something tells me he throws darts at a copy of the Constitution in his basement.

Why don't you show us one case where these alleged abuses have been proven against the sheriff and charges brought.

Upholding the law in the US these days isn't deemed politically correct. Especially when it involves what's termed in this country as a "minority".

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Well he's already lost in court regarding his jails. He's settled quite a few lawsuits and has three or four major ones pending. Why hasn't Arizona charged him? You've got me on that one, though the FBI and the department of justice are both investigating.

Here is an example of a settled lawsuit:

According to the arresting officers, they were stopped pursuant to SB 1070 - suspicion of being brown.

Glad to find out that some common sense was used by ICE! Terrible situation though! The mother should have her rights terminated!

When they say "undocumented immigrant" don't they mean "foreign invader?"
