Arizone Sherriff Joe Arpaio Arrests 6 Year Old Undocumented Immigrant

Arpaio is currently being sued by the Department of Justice for multiple civil rights violations. He also admitted to using taxpayer resources to pursue an investigation into President Obama’s birth certificate, a widely debunked conspiracy theory.

He's a nutter. Anyone who believes that our president isn't a US Citizen who is qualified to be president is a nutter. He's also a racist scumbag, but that doesn't solely qualify him to be a nutter.

You can't have adults and 6 year olds detained together. It aint a hotel.

There's only one six year old in question here and I don't see why she can't be detained WITH her parents rather than singled out- poor kid must be terrified. She shouldn't have to suffer for her parents BAD decisions- which incidentally is the precise reason for Obama's new policy. Children who have no concept of laws in the adult world and should not have to suffer when their parents break them- it's quite simple.

The parents should be arrested for putting a small child in that position. I seriously doubt the little girl is going to be doing hard time.

The adults that created the unusual circumstances are the parents. If I commit a crime in the U.S. the govt. doesn't spend anytime trying to figure out how to keep me and my child together. If I walk into Bank of America and stick a gun in someones face and ask for money and get caught, since I have a child I should be united with my child at a hotel? Your thinking is ludicrous.

Or on a less severe note. If I get caught shoplifting a pack of smokes with my kid in tow, we should be put up at a hotel? I feel for the kid. Not her fault, but this kinda thing happens all the time in situations that have nothing to do with immigration.

Does sheriff joe arrest many illegal russians or ukrainians? How does his department know who might be illegal? My guess is that it is a whole lot safer for a blond, blue eyed russian illegal to stroll down the sidewalk there than for a latin american to do the same. How many 'white' people does he demand provide proof of citizenship from? Especially 6 year-old? Unless and until we have a national ID that we all must carry this area is going to remain a serious problem both for enforcement officials as well as for those who 'look like' they might be illegal (have brown skin)! Are we all in favor of that? If not, why not?

I'm not defending the sheriff at all. Personally I think the guy is kind of a nut job with his pink underwear, desert work camps, and green bologna sandwiches.

That said, the parents are to blame here. Not anyone at Maricopa county government. I haven't heard one logical response about what to do with the child. Putting them all up at the Hyatt is not a logical response. Once again the parents put this child in this position. Maybe a one way trip to Nogales is in order for the child and the parents. I suspect that's how this will all end up.

Hell I was deported from Canada once. I went about my business. I didn't piss and moan about spending the night in Laval, taken to the Montreal airport the next day and told to leave and not come back. I screwed up. If I had my son with me, I damn sure wouldn't blame it on CIC in Canada. The parents are to blame.
