Do a search on Job Corp. I recommend it also. I been through the program when I was 17. You can live at the Job Corp location in downtown LA. They give you small amount of money, free room, food, and training. You can either train as nurse or go to outside job training location or go to LA Trade Tech College. I been was their for 2 years. I recommend the register hurse program. That is the only job that is in high demand.

You may not like this type of job but here it goes - check your area for a ARC - or what other organization that works with developmentally disabled adults. I would have to say this type of job was really the LAST type of occupation I would ever choose to do -- but after working with the developmentally disabled/challenged since December 2003 it is a very rewarding job which makes you feel good about yourself, generally has really good benefits and this occupation is usually the last sort of job anyone would look for. This link I found for your area:

Don't despair. You are not alone. There are many of us. Like you, I had a job for two years, too. Then, I lost it. It's my third month now looking for a job, and I have a 2 year old baby. It's not the end of the world. I was laso very discouraged like you that before I signed in here in VJ, I googled miracle stories of God's provision first. I read tons of inspiring stories and prayed that I would receive my miracle, too. God bless both of us!

Craigslist?

Go home?

Drive nearby town, have lots of copy of your resume and then, every business establishment you think might give you job, stop by and handle your resume. It doesn't matter if they have opening or no, just handle your resume. Hopefully you'll get job.

Goodluck. Don't do your option one. Don't lose hope. God Bless.

The best advice, I recommend this.

Actually, I live in North Dakota, Minot to be exact. There are job openings everywhere. I don't think a single place is not hiring. Granted, there aren't a lot of people here and it is cold, but it would be better than options 1 and 2. The oil companies around here are also hiring just about anyone, and paying 70-80k a year...Also I'm in the military, and it is not bad once you get used to it. THERE ARE OPTIONS.

Wow 70-80 k a year! Unbelievable! Do you need any special skills to get those jobs?

Craigslist?

Go home?

Everyday on craigslist!

Go home bad advice. - I said I am not a looser, I will not give up!

Here is how you get a job:

- Drive to a construction site, ask for a job. Most likely you will get one.

- Go to small local business, ask if they have any job open.

- Donut shop usually hire.

If you keep doing the above, you will get one within a week I promise.

That what I do almost every day)))

One day I send my resume on-line, another day I go to places.

You never answered the ??? are you legal, and second if you are why aren't you drawning un-employment from the 1st job that you was laid off from.

The un-employment agencies have job training aswell, have you look there for job leads.

Even if you are fired you an still get un-employment, there is a 3 month penalty, unless you were fired for a serious reason. If so, then that maybe why no one is looking at your resume seriously. The prior company isn't giving you any references.

Now the reasons is becoming clearer.

Come on I was a cook! Who gonna look for the references! Some maybe will but this is not a management or other BIG position.

And even if they call my past job I gave them phone number of my friend who is supervisor there so he will not tell that I was fired.

And they never check references BEFORE they call for an interview.
