I have not been successful as of yet but still waiting after the interview on july 25,2012. I had two interviews due to my arrest record. This is my second time applying for naturalization, i was denied in 2009 because i had to wait five years after the arrest. I have come to learn that uscis is very slow when it comes to making a decision if you even have minor arrests. I was arrested for harrassment because i called my gf too many times and now when i need the citizenship so i can bring my wife, they are giving me the run around. Hopefully they make a positive in your case since you are waiting so long. I never waited for something so eagerly before like now for citizenship, if it werent for my wife i would not apply for citizenship and just renew my green card every ten years. I have been here since 1993 and never felt the need for citizenship before. Everytime i come to jfk they do additional inquiry cuz of i had an arrest and it shows in their system after finger printing, they just make me wait half hour and never ask anything. All i can do is hope.

Wow, I had a minor run-in with teh law that ended up in dismissal and a sealed record, during my interview I brought all the documentation but hte adjudicator wanted nothing to do with it. He was very serious but made it clear he was not interested, just asked "is this the only runin with the Police-men", I said yes, and that was that. All went smooth. I had a ton of changes to make on the original N400 (marital status change, name change, additional travels) I had sent and there was no issue with anything, its as if he already knew I was going to be approved before I walked in for the interview, it was a great experience actually.

Also, I am not sure if the comment about taking away LPR and begining removal conditions is accurate, I am pretty sure they can deport you for convictions specially felonies, I think at this point even naturalization can be revoked under certain circumstances. So best not to misunderstand your rights and maybe demand something you are not entitled to.

Short article I found using Google:

Best of Luck!!
