Yeah, they do send I-134 to the beneficiary. The petitioner can download the form directly from USCIS website though: http://www.uscis.gov/GRAPHICS/FORMSFEE/FORMS/i-134.htm

Also, the beneficiary might use the form if they're self-sponsoring (I think, not sure).

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Packet 3 contains instructions for the foreign fiancee of documents and procedures required before an interview at the U.S. embassy. Form I-134 is the affidavit of support to be completed by the U.S resident requesting the approval of the K-1 visa. To simplify matters, many U.S. embassies send the identical information to both parties. The I-134 must be completed with appropriate documents and notarizations and accompany the foreign fiancee to the U.S. embassy interview.

Does that explain things?

uk2usa,

Because you may not need a sponsor, but if you do it's up to you to find a suitable one and have them fill out the I-134 on your behalf. Yes, the form could be downloaded off the internet, but they give you a copy as a courtesy as it may save you the trouble.

Most K-visa applicants do need a sponsor, and most of their sponsors are their petitioners, but neither is necessarily the case.

I'm female too and I called the consulate in Frankfurt to ask, if I'm supposed to fill out the DS- 157 and they said yes.

Since it is not much work to fill it out, just do it and you'll be on the safe site :star:
