My husband and I applied for our AOS in March and I research my 797 Notice of Action that they received it, got my biometrics letter and then just got my work and travel permit. I never got any letters officially in the mail saying that it was approved (and waiting on green card)...just not sure if I was supposed to actually receive a notice that it was approved for my records. If anyone could help that would be great!

Thanks

Most AOS' require an interview. So you end up receiving an interview notice to appear at your local office as a couple with evidence proving your marriage is legit. However, since you came into the US on a K1, there's a high likelihood that your case will be transfered to California (CSC) for processing. If that happens, you'll likely skip the interview process but it will take approx. 7 - 12 months for approval. Either way, an interview or a transfer, you'll receive a piece of physical postal mail telling you how the USCIS is handling your case.

If you mean the employment authorization (work permit) and AP (travel permit), no, you don't receive any approval notice in the mail, just the card itself and whatever came with it.

Adjusting from a K-1 not from work student or tourist status - moving to the correct AOS forums section.
