Go with her through immigration, request the balikbayan stamp when entering. Double check they gave you one year on the stamp. She must use her Philippine passport on entering, or have proof she was born in the Philippines, such as her birth certificate or an expired passport.

Sorry for leaving out those details, I am the USC and Monreal is going with me. We are going to visit family. So as long as Monreal is with me i will not need to sign anything? or does a form still need filled out? Sorry for the slight confusion.

That is correct, sir.

As long as Monreal, a Filipino citizen, is with you...no form to sign...no fee to be paid.

You guys will need her Philippine passport, as well as your marriage certificate. Remember, she needs to say that you're both Balikbayan. The immigration officers will not assume and give you the Balikbayan stamp automatically.

Have a safe trip!

My husband and I were not aware of the 21-day limit for non-visa holders when we visited the PH last month. I just assumed that USCs may stay up to six months in the PH without any hassle. Now I know I was mistaken. laughing.gif Anyway, we arrived in Mactan and all the passengers scurried to the immigration queues. I was looking for the shortest line when I heard someone call out to nobody in particular, "Balikbayan, balikbayan come here."

With the hope of making things quicker, I stared at the person and asked, "Is it okay to take my husband with me to the balikbayan counter?"

She replied, "Of course, he's now a balikbayan."

The immigration lady asked for our marriage certificate and after a few minutes, we were done. I didn't mention anything about a balikbayan stamp because I haven't known that then.

I checked my husband's passport today and noticed that the arrival stamp at Mactan airport permits my husband to stay for a year in the PH from the date of arrival.
