Hi VJ friends. I hope everyone is fine!

I still have not heard anything from the US embassy in Kabul. I have tried emailing them, but no answers. I decided to call our Senator to see if they can contact the embassy on our behalf. Any suggestions on what else I can do or if calling and involving our state senator would help our case. Thank you all.

I just wanted to add this information. It has been a month and four days since my approved petition was forwared to the US embassy in Afghanistan. But nothing yet. I am worried. The mailing system there is not relaible so I am concern for documents being lost. When I email embassy no replies. :(

Hey, this is normal and it will take time, especially in Kabul. Are you using the correct email? I email them and they respond either the same day or within a few days. It is KabulIV@state.gov

Make sure you include your case number in the subject line. Be very polite and always thank them for taking the time to read your email. At least this is what I do and they respond very quickly. They advised me to have my fiance complete his medical asap, which he did. I emailed them last week and asked when we should expect them to contact him or send him paperwork to have his interview. They told me that they are backlogged and they will contact him when they are ready. Our petition has been there for going on 4 months. So waiting a month is really not that long. Just be patient and get everything done that you can and then wait for them to contact you. Our petition actually expired on June 15 but the told me to not worry because they are routinely extended, because the process takes time. Well I hope I eased your mind a little. Take care and good luck.
