I do not have any valid id. The only things i have are an expired ead from 2002 when i had tps , and a copy of my passport that was valid for 7 more years and my social security card. Ill still be going to apply for my passport but last time it took a month to get it. If in case i dont get my passport in time, will the documents that i have be ok? How long would my biometrics appointment take? In los angeles btw thank you.

Hi there. I'm from El salvador and I got my passport the same day .

I went 2 hours before they close . You just need a original birth certificate and they might need the copy of your passport.

Yrs ago passports would take long but now they do them in the spot. I went late since everyone goes early in the morning. Good luck

In the link below, from the USCIS site the list of documents doesnt mention that expired passports are accepted. I believe you will need a valid passport, as is the case with everything else involving the USCIS.

Consider applying for an expedite passport just so you are on the safe side.

Nope, incorrect. Some countries will not allow a person to renew their passport from abroad if they do not have legal status, and those people can AOS. You can use your expired passport.

Yaaay! I am glad it all worked out for you. I am not eve sure why they bother to publish their phone numbers. I am yet to dial any consulate anywhere and have someone pick up the phone. Good luck with your bio and AOS!!!!
