How to improve English skills?

Why is the non English language needed? Is the USC trying to learn the immigrant spouse's language as well?

Why not? I've learned some Thai, not because I need it to speak with my wife, but rather so I can speak with her side of the family. I enjoy speaking with my mother-in-law and father-in-law.

Also, many objects have more than one name (a general name for the item as well as a more specific name). Having the specific name in English (tea cup, for example) and the specific name in the native language can assist the English language learner with being more precise. Labeling an item "tea cup" and then having the name translated into the English language learner's native language clues them in that tea cup is specific and they shouldn't use "tea cup" for all cups. It's just used as an assist, but can certainly be omitted if those using the exercise do not deem it necessary.

My timeline was last updated on 29MAR2013.

no. I'm kind of intimidated by it. Maybe that's what I need though... do they welcome ESL students? I know there is a toastmasters group only for ESL students near my place...

yer so baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. This is a long-time thread and you're now just talking about toastmasters?

For Penance, please to cook 300 venison dumplings on Thursday, give to a homeless shelter on Friday.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
