Hi, Be well rested and alert to answer the interview questions. Recheck what is needed for the interview so you will have what they ask for with you. And TRY not to appear nervous. We wish you the very best :)

Good Luck! I did DCF and found it to be much less stressful than others' experiences here.

Working in Turkmenistan, spouse is with me.

Dealing with the NVC process...

Since you filed DCF you will not have any issues. We have a Cairo interview thread and I had to do some searching to see what others were asked for at the interview. I have included the short list at the bottom.

One member posted this

the best advice i can give anyone for the interview is do NOT forget any papers. It really delays things. You want to do everything in your hands to keep the process moving...

I posted this earlier, but will post it now to keep it relevant.

BRING THE FOLLOWING WITH YOU TO YOUR INTERVIEW:

- 4 or more (5cm x 5cm) passport pictures with a white background

-military paper (and by the way, you don't need to have it translated because it is going to Cairo--my husband went through a hassle getting them officially translated and then we found out we didn't even have to have that done because the language in Egypt is Arabic. You would have to get it translated if it was like in German and your interview was in Cairo or vice versa)

-medical check report (make sure they seal it very well because if it is tampered with then they can refuse it). Check out this site for more info on the medical report.

http://egypt.usembas...ular/ivmei.html

-a copy of your marriage certificate so that they can replace it with the original

-a copy of any other documents that you want back (if they have original birth certificate, etc.). If you don't want your originals back then you don;t have to bring copies

-your passport, make sure it is valid for at least 6 more months

-all of your evidence/proof of your relationship (it may or may not be looked at, but you obviously want to have it just in case-pictures & phone logs seem to be sufficient)

-the letter from the NVC that states that you have an interview (that's what they email you to inform you that you have an interview. They email you an attachment that is 4 pages long)

-an updated US income tax return

-85 pounds for DHL

Check out this website just in case I forgot anything:

http://travel.state..../info_3739.html

1. Military paper

2. Updated police certificate

3. recent pay stubs

4. Also Ruby was asked for original 1040 taxes. Cause they had her W2 and tax transcripts...

5. and someone else asked for another sponsor.

6. Also they aked to get an employer to hire the egyptian before he comes to USA

As of this morning the embassy website still says no one else allowed in the building except the beneficiary who has the interview. Everyone must wait across the street.

If you are Egyptian-American they will allow you into the building but you cannot go up to the window with him. You ucan just sit in the waiting room.

Good Luck Angie!!
