Hi,

Im just wondering if anyone could tell me the cost for each stage of the process of getting the visa. My wife (USC) and I (UKC) have filed the i130 and paid the $400 something fee for that one just wondering what the cost if of the next stages. If anyone can provide a breakdown that would be really great.

Also, my wife's father is ring to have to be the co-sponsor as my wife has just graduated college and it is my understand that my wife and her father both fill out an i864 form which cost $88. Do we pay $88 twice, one fee for each form or just once for the co-sponsor?

Many thanks

Dean

The London medical currently costs £227. You will have to pay for any vaccinations you have done at the clinic so I recommend checking what you need and getting them done at your GP's surgery. They will be much cheaper there, if not free.

Once your visa is approved you will have to pay approximately £15 to have it returned by courier. You pay that on the day of the interview.

To be fair, the OP was asking about cost for 'each stage'. The Consulate stage is one of those.

Thanks for the replies. I was looking for a total cost of all the stages and they have been supplied. I wasn't expecting the medical to be so expensive. What actually happens at the medical and where does it take place?

Here is the link to the information for the London medical. http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/medical-examination.html

It is performed by a clinic called Knightsbridge doctors and they have two offices in central London. Generally it involves a blood test, chest x-ray, a quick physical examination which seemed to be mainly a check for lumps and bumps (but bizarrely includes a quick peek to check you are the gender you claim to be!) and a questionnaire. As I mentioned, you can also get them to give you vaccinations but they will charge over the odds.

They are here. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/39181/pdfs/vaccinechart.pdf

Varicella (chicken pox) is not available in the UK so you just have to tell them you have had it and they will check it off.
