The problem with this legislationdictator issuing orders, is how do you deter future illegals (overstayed on visa/border jumpers) who anticipate a possible dream act? They need to have it similar to adoption, can't petition for parents since they were the true law breakers.

fixed.

Yes, I know, I was referring to the theoretical scenario involving a bank robbery.

And what is your response? That the child will be held accountable too? Even if they're very young and don't know better/had no choice? That's the situation for most of the children brought here. Their parents are the law breakers. The kids came along, because what else were they supposed to do? And they stayed here because a) they don't know their history/past and/or b) can't do a damn thing about it.

Nah, we're talking about people who are brought here AS children.

And while yes, some pregnant women can give birth in jail, not all facilities allow the mother to raise the child in jail.

Why are we even discussing this? What does it have to do with my question? You telling me that a four year old "accessory" will go to jail for a crime a mother commits?

I am telling you that the "they were children" cannot be used as an excuse once they become adults and knowingly perpetuate their status.

I do reember reading on here about a case in which decisions made by parents triggered a ban for the kid, so I know it is possible and, in fact, happening.

So a child turns 21 and is told they were not born in the United States and have to leave. They have to go to a country they're unfamiliar with, may have no family support in this new country, may not even speak the language spoken in this new country, and also has no money to travel with. What do you suggest happens to them?

And I stole your purse because I was hungry, does that mean I don't have to go to jail?

Your arguments make no sense.

If you're a very young child whose parents have instructed you to steal something for them, then no, you should not have to go to jail. Because you're a CHILD and don't know better, or were forced into it by someone you love and trust. Again, you're a KID.

These kids were brought here by their parents. Punish the parents. Don't send children off to whoknowswhere just to punish the parents.

So lets say in a K-3, K-4 scenario the K-3 beneficiary lies at the interview and gets caught, incurs a lifetime ban. Does the K-4 still get to come to the U.S.?

That's my point. It was no fault of the K-4 that th K-3 lied. Seems Obama should allow this as well.

A guy kills three old ladies in cold blood, but bo hoo, he has 8 kids at home. Let's keep him out of the jail, cause his kids need food.

I know it isn't the same since the kids are considered "the victims", but I don't see how they could have survived here without working under the table and who knows what.

Yeah, but the K3 and K4 aren't here. They would have had to been in the country first.

All they've got to do is sneak in and never leave at one point and then the child is the instant 'victim!'

Is ... is that what you think I'm talking about? Or that I'm implying? That I condone murder if the murderer has children?

I'm completely lost here.
