I never said they should be sent home. Personally I don't know how the Government should resolve this. It's a tricky situation.

All I said is that these people broke the law when they arrived (even though it wasn't their choice) and they have continued to break the law every morning they woke up in this country. Intentional or not, they are breaking the law.

I don't know how to fix that (aside from stopping it from happening again), but all Obama has done today is said "Hey, bring your kids here and hide for a few years... we won't do anything to them". That is not a good message to put out.

This does not promote illegal immigration. It's simply to prevent punishing the WRONG people for a crime.

This attitude of "I don't care what happens to them, but something should!!!" doesn't make sense to me.

A mother takes her child on a crime spree robbing banks. Forcing the child, who doesn't know better or has no choice to stop it, to act as a distraction.

Should the child be punished? I mean, they didn't know what was going on, but they were still there while the law was being broken, so they're guilty too.

Some of these have served in our military and put their lives on the line to defend our freedom. I for one would be happy to call them Americans. They deserve it.

I find it very odd that they could. Sounds like a massive security breach to me.

As a matter of fact, depending on its age, the child will go to jail. Pregnant women go to jail,. and they give birth there. I know they can chose to keep the child with them until it turns two.

And we aren't talking about children here, we are discussing adults, no? They are called sccessories I think.

Many foreign nationals served alongside and inside the US armed forces in the many conflicts we were involved in the XX century. Many obtained their citizenship in that manner.

The child, being a minor. These kids are usually brought over at a very young age. Say the child is under 13. The kid's going to jail?

Tell you what. You open up your pocket book. Spend every last dime you have to take care of the ones you want to keep here, and I'm all for it.

These people are earning their EADs and will be working and can pay for themselves. :) They don't need me.

Therefore, as they become LPR they will be able to pay back all that which according to you, they took while they were here.

They won't be given a path to citizenship at this point. They won't be LPR's. They will be in some sort of non-immigrant status. They certainly won't be able to vote.

Yes, but those were allied forces recognised as such. I know I wouldnt be ok with undocumented strangers serving in my country's army,

Nah, we're talking about people who are brought here AS children.

And while yes, some pregnant women can give birth in jail, not all facilities allow the mother to raise the child in jail.

Why are we even discussing this? What does it have to do with my question? You telling me that a four year old "accessory" will go to jail for a crime a mother commits?

Yes, I know, I was referring to the theoretical scenario involving a bank robbery.
