So you think they should punished as if it were their fault/choice?

I love how people think they should just be "sent home" ... as if that would be easy. But hey, people rarely care about what happens to others if it doesn't directly impact them.

Sure we do. Them staying here directly does impact us. It impacts our ability to have jobs, the amount of taxes we pay (and we pay a ** ton more thanks to them), etc..

Actually sending them back home is beneficial.

To who? Certainly not to them. But they don't matter, because they "broke the law" as kids simply by being brought here and having no say in the matter.

So we should punish innocent people to prevent other people from being guilty. Thank goodness you're not in charge of anything.

These people are still going to go through an immigration process. They're simply not being deported for actions they had nothing to do with.

People are people. They are not objects for others to use to "prove a point" ...

have you ever heard of affirmative action? if yes, i'd like to hear your thought on it.

Therefore, as they become LPR they will be able to pay back all that which according to you, they took while they were here.

I never said they should be sent home. Personally I don't know how the Government should resolve this. It's a tricky situation.

All I said is that these people broke the law when they arrived (even though it wasn't their choice) and they have continued to break the law every morning they woke up in this country. Intentional or not, they are breaking the law.

I don't know how to fix that (aside from stopping it from happening again), but all Obama has done today is said "Hey, bring your kids here and hide for a few years... we won't do anything to them". That is not a good message to put out.

From what I read they can't be LPR. Only EAD.

Back to the country they have no recollection of living in? Who will support them? Where will they go? What will they do? They may not even speak the language. And with what money should they travel "home" with?

If someone came up to you at the age of 21 and said "Sorry, you were not born in this country you've lived in all your life. You have to go to a foreign country and start your life over. Sorry if you don't know anyone or know the language. You'll figure it out" ... that would be fair to you?

Emmm ... we are an immigration forum?

US Citizens should come first the last time I checked.

Strictly speaking, deportation is not a punishment. However, it is the responsibility of the government to determine if they may be sending people into harms way. I personally think individuals should be weighed and considered on an individual basis - but thats expensive...

And your point is ... that it's right? That you agree? Not that it would surprise me if you did.

I'm sure you use people for your own personal gain each and every day and don't even realize it. It's the way the world goes around.
