Good morning/afternoon/evening,

You may call me Dash or Splamage for short. I am an a citizen of the U.S. who is now just happily married to my lady as of April 2012. We are embarking on a challenging period where we do all the things a family does in America but in a condensed time period. I just wanted to take a second to introduce myself generally before I posted about our particular situation.

I would say that being an American, I had no idea of how incredibly (dare I say ridiculously) complex the immigration policies are here in the states. I understand that there are many different scenarios possible for coming here, but on first blush the procedures and the forms and the numbers with various acronyms make for a head-spinning introduction.

This community looks very helpful and I hope maybe to contribute something of value at some point here as well. After I become "fluent" in USCIS. :)
