Thank you for all the prayers and best wishes from each of you. After her mothers funeral on Friday Elena re-entered the hospital in the evening. She spoke with her doctor today and he is concerned enough about the blood clot that he will be keeping her in the hospital for treatment for another 10 days. :( I don't really know if it is the hospitals in Russia or if it just that serious. Hospitals in the US can usually have this treatment finished in 3-5 days. :(

I will keep you updated here as things progress.

Again, thanks for your prayers and concern.

Regards,

John

Keep us posted John and at least she is in the hospital where they can monitor her progress during this time. Stay positive and you both are in my thoughts and prayers.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Still keeping you and Elana in my thoughts and prayers. There may be differences in health care but it may also be that her condition warrants that long of a hospital stay. Sometimes in the US they put you out of hospital before you really should go or people leave before they should because of the expense. Trust that she is in good hands and receiving the proper medical care and treatment - it will make waiting this out a lot easier on you. Good medical care is available outside of the US:-) and I am sure her doctors are taking good care of her. It is hard, though, when you are far away and waiting. Hang in there.

John....Elena is in the best possible place she can be right now, no not in your arms, but in round the clock care. My D got a DVT years ago...quite a bad one, in fact, and was in the hospital for some time. I also don't know why, whether it was a UK thing or just because it was a really bad DVT ...but as frustrating as it was, it was some consolation that he was being watched all the time & was getting the best care possible.

Elena could probably also benefit from just resting for several days to come to terms with the shock of her loss. She must be so emotionally exhausted. I'm so sorry for you two...

They will give her major blood thinners...she'll be on Warfarin for a while, and will have to wear a special sock when she flies, but this too shall pass.

Keeping you both in my prayers, please keep us posted.

I am hoping all goes well with Elena. I know it's hard, having your precious in the hospital for so long ( I know, I just got out of the hospital after five long days ) but it's worth it to get back to health. I am thinking of you both. (F)
