London "Packet 3" example

Hi everyone,

My "Packet 3" arrived today. So we have our LND number! Yay! :D

As stated before, "Packet 3" isn't a packet anymore, it's a letter, of which I have included an example here for you to look at.

What I do find a bit confusing is the: "DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND ANY DOCUMENTS TO THIS OFFICE UNTIL YOU ARE SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED TO DO SO" the website says "Note: The failure to return the forms promptly will delay the processing of your application."

That is the reason I sent off my DS-230 a month ago....

After reading it 4 times, i think theyre trying to say send back the FORMS (DS-2001 and DS-230) but not any DOCUMENTS (birth certificate, I-864 etc). Very confusing way of putting it

Hi,

I'm currently going through the same process with my husband, but we haven't sent off DS forms yet as we thought we didn't have to?

We just received Packet 3 as your letter and made an appointment for the medical. Should we be sending off DS forms now?

Any advice is much appreciated as we want to get this done as quickly as possible.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I only sent off my DS-230 because the website states that you need to send it as soon as possible to avoid delays - DS-230 instructions I'll be checking with the embassy via the extortion line if they received my DS-230 soon...

It is a bit confusing because at the bottom of the DS-2001 it states:

"Please send this form, along with Form DS-230 Part 1 (for each applicant), to the address of the United States Embassy or Consulate listed on the cover letter of this information packet."

The DS-2001 you only send off when you have all the other required "documents" together - so in your case, if you have all the required documents there is nothing stopping you from sending both of them now.

From reading on this forum (and several timelines), the interview date is on average only a month+ after you sent off the doc's anyway....

HTH. :D

Hi Keeto,

Thanks for the reply, read it and then got DS 230 and DS2001 together and sent off to the embassy yesterday! Medical on Friday, so here's hoping that there's no other roadblocks (or contradicting directions)--called the embassy on saturday to make sure everything was right and in place, tried to speak as fast as I could so they couldn't get that much money out of me!

Good luck with everything and thanks again!
