Hi Ezzie, glad you got the receipt text. Glad it an NBC receipt number on it. The place where you are supposed to able to check application status can be found by googling "uscis my case status" but so far it doesn't seem anyone has been able to check the status online. Try it and let us know if you can. Thanks.

Hi. I tried to add this case to my profile in the USCIS site, but is unable to.

I think it changed when they started doing centralized processing somewhere around December 2011. Any news from the original poster?

I just called the USCIS hotline now about my 2 children's applications, and I was told I have to contact my local consulate to get an update (which for me is in Hong Kong where I live). Then I called the consulate in Hong Kong, and of course they know nothing about N-600K's and they told me to send an email to the Visa Enquiry section (which of course, is wrong because I'm NOT applying for a visa!). So even though I said my preferred interview and final processing location is Seattle, WA, it appears the local consulate in the country where you live currently might be involved as well. Who knows?wacko.gif

Just received e-mail from U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong that the USCIS Hotline reply to me was incorrect, and in fact the Consulate does not respond to any citizenship queries. They referred my queries to the Asia regional USCIS office in Bangkok, Thailand. The saga continues....

That's ridiculous, let us know what happens next and I truly hope you find out something soon.

Ezzie this is all new to me, is the plan then just to wait on some more correspondence from them at some point?

I guess..I don't think there's much we can do at this time but to wait to hear from them. One more test of patience, and so now it goes.

I applied for my son's passport as well.

Ezzie

Update: After a big run around to get information from the U.S. Hotline, to consular office in Hong Kong, to the regional USCIS office in Bangkok, they just told me today by e-mail that I should expect to hear from my chosen location for interview, the USCIS Field Office in Seattle, WA in due course. Even though the N-600K is not listed in their processing times chart, I sense that they group together the N-400, N-600, and probably the N-600K as well, all being citizenship-related filings. And their website seems to say that unless it exceeds the 5 month processing time, don't call them and just wait and assume everything is OK. Be patient!

We should expect to hear from our respective local field offices in due time. I'm positive it wouldn't take 5 months.

I hope you're right Ezzie but what makes you think it won't be 5 months or longer? It seems like the national average for n600 processing is over 6 months. But I definitely hope you are right. It would be helpful if we could track it all online.

Just keeping positive, I guess. The N400s are sent in the same lockbox, and my brother-in-law had his oath-taking last month, after 3 months from filing. I do know that if I don't get to hear from them soon I'd be going nuts again, but for now I'm trying to be patient, while taking my son around the state. He just got here last month.

I pray you are right Ezzie. I mean since we can't track it online, how do we know from day to day? What if a notice or something gets lost in the mail? How in the world would we know? I just pray everything goes smoothly. I'm new to this. Let's all keep each other updated.

Since there's no way to track, we'll just wait...Haaayyyy..like it's that easy, no?

Last year, the notice for my eldest son's oath-taking was lost in the mail, and someone from the local field office called me up asking why we didn't come on the supposed date.
