Hello all,

My USC fiance and I have been together for 7 months (engaged for 4) and we're getting married and sending in our petition in 2 weeks time. I'm putting together the paperwork and it's been hard to figure out how much is enough and what works as far as bonafides to mail with the packet. I have the following:

  1. A joint bank account
  2. A joint JC Penny credit card
  3. My will designating my fiance as the executor of my estate and the primary beneficiary
  4. An affidavit from her parents
  5. An affidavit from my parents
  6. Affidavits from 4-5 of our friends.

I also have photos and online conversation messages saved that I can send but the forms don't ask for these. Should I send them along anyway? What did others send? Unfortunately, my parents own the flat we will live in so we can show a joint lease or utilities yet. Any other thoughts or feedback?

I say yes to the list, no to the messages. I assume you mean you are filing a concurrent petition after you get married, a I-130/I-485? ( you say I-131 which is a travel document). If you are filing a concurrent petition, you will have a mandatory joint interview, which counts for a lot. The officer will get a chance to see you both in person. Good luck.

Yes, sorry it's the I-130 and I-485. Also, I'm filing the petition on the day we get married and my affidavits are being made now by friends and family. How should I go about having them word the "marriage" bit? Their "coming marriage"? Other thoughts?
