Help! I think I've messed up!

I filed all paperwork on my own. Everything went well and my appt. has been scheduled for July 9, 2012. I just remembered my grandmother petition under 245i before April 30, 2001 for my father us, (his children). For some reason i was thinking u showed proof at the interview. I guess I was wrong :help: By what ive read I was supposed to file an AOS..... what now, Im I screwed???? :o

Did you file for a cr1 visa? I'm confused.

If you are adjusting status through your grandmother the visa you filed for would've been a i-485 with i-140 i believe.

You would get much more help in the adjustment of status forum board

i had filed all my paperwork under my husband who is a US Citizen, I was filling for a IR1, I had forgotten that my grandmother had submitted a petition under the 245(i), which allows you to adjust permanent residence without leaving the US, by paying a 1,000 fee. If I would have left the US, I would have received a 3 to 10 year penalty.

why to file for an IR-1 visa if you have not left the USA , and have no intention to leave the USA?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
