How much the entire K1 Visa costed you ?

Question 1 :

I will be soon doing the I-129F. Beforehand I would like to know more or less how much it will cost me "the entire" thing.

I know it can probably be different for everyone, but I just want to be in the safe side more or less what will cost me. To put aside this "amount" of money to be prepared.

By the way , I will be filing from Miami, for a fiancée in Cuba.

Question 2 :

I have heard some people being told not to fly directly to Miami. Anybody knows why is that ?

We are expecting to spend a total of $2390.

That's for

I-129F - $340 (paid)

K-1 Visa - $240

I-485 - $1070 (including biometric)

I-765 - $380

I-131 - $360

dont forget medical. Visa process fee for me was 350 per visa, I see you put 240 maybe it went down again.

Yes, according to Department of State as of April 13, 2012, K-1 visa fee has been reduced to $240.

Medical fee for Indonesia is very minimal $88 and of course each countries have their own various fees.

I am confused... I thought when you file the I-485, you can file the EAD and AP without additional costs. Please confirm.

1/18/2013 - Married

3/5/2013 - Filed AOS, EAD & AP

3/7/2013 - USCIS Chicago rec'd applications

3/12/2013 - USCIS sends NOA1 email

Wrong. I-765 and I-131 are free when filed concurrently with the I-485.

I'm not up on the latest rules regarding this, but my understanding was that you needed permission from the US government to travel between the US and Cuba. Not long ago there were no direct flights between the two countries, but now charter flights are available. I'm not sure if a Cuban national with a non-immigrant K visa can travel on one of those flights. Check the regional forum and see if anyone else knows.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

Wrong. I-765 and I-131 are free when filed concurrently with the I-485.

Thank you for clarifying it for us. It's great that we can save up $740 for something else now. B-)

Thanks guys for saying what process needs payment. But would be better if you guys would say numbers next to the process names lol

P.S: even if your case was not from cuba. That's fine you can say how much it costed. Regardless it could probably be a 50/50 chance it will be the same in some cases. Or maybe more. Still better be prepared than not be lol

The cost of these things vary greatly both between country and areas of the country so putting costs could be very misleading. listing them will allow you to look up how much these things will cost in your beneficiaries area.

+ medical (and shots)

Although K-1 visa does not require vaccination, but we understand it will be required for filing I-485 (AOS). My fiancée will get her vaccination done in Indonesia instead in the US. The cost of the vaccination doses are ridiculously expensive in the US. Last year for my own personal precaution, I took both Hepatitis A and B vaccinations prior seeing my fiancée in Indonesia. The cost for each doses was $80 and my PPO insurance does not cover vaccination. Therefore, that's $320 for Hepatitis A (1 shot) and B (3 shots). My family doctor, who is also a listed USCIS Civil Surgeon charges that amount. So based on that, I most likely to recommend any beneficiary to take the required I-485 vaccination in her/his home countries (it could be free).

While the K1 visa itself does not require it, some countries have their own requirements. For example the I-134 does NOT require tax returns however some countries require you to present them with the I-134. The Philippines requires it's people to do a CFO seminar or they cannot leave the country.

You are correct though that it's a LOT easier to get the shots done for the K1 medical however some countries like Mexico do not and WILL not complete the DS-3025 so people end up seeing CS's who then rip people off for a full medical fee.

Luckily Hep is not a requirement for most people.
