@aaydrian, I think that she can answer for herself, and really does not need your interjection.

My teachers and professors used to say 'There are no such things as stupid questions' but you proved them wrong 2 posts ago.

A third reason why she may go the Kingston Ocho Rios route is that she could have business in Kingston to attend to but that is not likely if she's just entering the island.

oh, my god u guys . . . thank you so very much . .

I will definately look into the service suggested. I will take a taxi to the rendezvous point from the airport (it will BE CHEAPER) . . nice . . .I will look online for the service and make (if I can) the appropriate accomodations.....

The reason why I flew into Kingston is yes, it was cheaper and the flight arrival time was much earlier . . YOU GUYS REALLY KNOW YOUR STUFF ABOUT JAMAICA . . .

Cant wait to tell him I have made other plans (on my own) with the help of my new found online friends . . . there is ALWAYS another way to accomplish the same means . .

will advise and again thank you. . . .

Because she would still be facing the same issues she is now (ie if you're not advising due to flat bridge fear). Reasons she may be flying in via Kingston is because 1) That's the final destination of the only flight she could get at the time or 2) its cheaper to fly into Kingston vs Montego Bay.

Aaydrian - u r right on the money . . . this is exactly the reason I choose to fly into Kingston . . . Were u on the phone with me when I made the reservation? wow, scary.

i lived in kingston for a few years so i know a little about the runnings. take an on time taxi to Dominica Dr in kingston or tell them you want to go the bus terminal, should cost you less than $1000, they have 4 trips to ochi if your coming during the week (its adifferent schedule on the weekend). Take the bus to ochi. from there you should find you way home and that shouldnt cost you $50 USD round trip. Next time try find a flight to montego bay, its easier to get home from there.

Take Knutsford expressfrom Domonica Ave in New Kgn. U will have to get a ride from Norman Manley. Kgn-Ochie $1400-$1500 last itme I was there Labor day

It has A/C , better class of passengers, no rude cell phone shouters, movies, water & newspaper, It stops at Ochie Jerk Center and the employees R pleasant

I guess one ould get a mini-van from Town I was told but they R prone to speeding, wrecks, loaing up of bodies , and theives since they stop to pick up

drop off, also loud music & vulgar ppl, U get what u pay for I would not attempt to tavel with my luggage on these vans (they cost J$300-$400),

My powers are limitless.

Other folks have put in their valuable 0.02¢ so you should do fine. What I will add is don't give off physical expressions as if you don't know what you're doing. It's a rule of thumb for anyone anywhere to look & speak confidently and move purposefully so you don't make yourself a target for unscrupulous people. In my opinion it would be best to go to the airport cambio and convert $100 USD to Ja dollars so its less of a hassle paying taxi/bus fares. Also see if you can get your husband to meet you at the Ocho Rios Jerk centre (where you get off) so you can be escorted into the bush with peace of mind. Good luck planning and safe travels.

thanks for the advice and yes already discussed about the pick up point . . I will get some US dollars converted but it has been my experience that the airport does not give you the best exchange rate, which is currently at 88 jamaican dollars to 1 US, which is another form of robbery if you ask me.

Again, All thanks . . .

So true. Airport currency exchange rate is about $76, while outside it's $86. Smh.
