Separate Game Subforum?

I can't see what the argument against a Games sub-forum is. There are any number of OT topics that would be interesting to pursue in open discussion but as many have pointed out they would get buried immediately. I know there are people who feel passionately about playing the "games" but honestly, OT in its current form has done the near impossible: made P&R look like an oasis of intellectualism.

Kip and I had an actual conversation in OT until 3AM and a few hours later the thread is at the bottom of the page. And it's Saturday and the forum isn't busy. Basically it has become one user's private playground.

If I was a mod...even for a day, half that VJ FB crowd would be on the "Habitual Offender List" whether they posted on here that day or not. I would even up the score quick like to make up for the years of obvious cronyism. I wouldn't be fare about it either and I wouldn't make any lame ####### excuses to them why I was doing it. I would just do it. I'm the last person on here that they ever want to make a mod. Seriously.

I wish the same diligence was shown with keeping the spammers in line as there is with the longtime regulars having fun in one or two threads.

Sorry if I've missed it, but what is the answer? Kathryn said she's raised the issue but no argument for keeping the status quo has been given by anyone. All people have done is said "games, boo!" or "games, yay!"

That seems pretty extreme when the alternative (a separate game subforum) makes much more sense.
