I never attack anyone evylin you know this in your heart. However, I witness many attacks on daily basis on other members. Anyways this thread is about making another forum for games which is up to admin and the right to ask for by any and all members. All I am saying is keep the posts related to that and not make it personal :)

FOrgive the question if I missed the answer before.....

So...why cant the games be in a different place? It seems people would be more content and would not have to mix it up.

A lot of good and long-time VJ members here are saying things that even more members agree with, si man, but aren't themselves posting.

Yep. I look at OT and think: why would I want to post in there? The bloom is off the rose for P&R (has been for some time) but OT holds no attraction for me. Surely there is a place on VJ for congenial banter with some small amount of brain.

Oh wait, that was a dream I had. Nevermind, please continue.

So, it seems that only the people who pad their post count are happy with the OT forum. That's maybe three or four people, including two of the very obvious ones. If the amount of enjoyment is THAT small, why can't there be a change? What has to be done?

If it involves meeting them on the green with my musket and sabre, I am all for it.star_smile.gif

Seriously, if it is easy to make new sub-fora for the use of a relatively small number of people (cf. CRBA and Military sub-fora) surely a games sub-forum isn't so out of line with what has been done before. Hell, P&R was created when people put up a stink about the tenor of OT. It carved out a space for people for a specific purpose, not unlike the creation of a games sub-forum would do. People who want to post in OT but are put off by the activity of a relative minority of members can point to this as a precedent.

Keep pushing if you want another game subforum. The Ewok might hear you eventually. I was one of those who suggested splitting OT into two because it was quite repulsive that most posters treat political issues and political figures as the only themes for current events. Some people just dismissed that suggestion. Six months later, the Politics and Religion forum was born. It's just too bad that OT has turned declensional.

There's been lots of people that have used OT in the past to up their post count. A few of them are on this thread. In fact I made the mistake last year of posting in a thread that had IR5 and Nagishkaw going back and forth and it's the reason I know longer have automatic email notification for this board turned on. I wish I could remember the name of that thread but it was like 300+ pages long and it was murder on my email box. The good thing though is that they kept it to that one thread. The bad was I was stupid enough to post in it. :(

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Back then it was easy to say, "If there's a thread you don't like, don't click."

That's no longer applicable to the current OT forum. There are too many threads that only three people like and the rest of us don't. Threads that foment spamming should be closed.

Also, stop tolerating this person who posts in every single thread, on every single forum. Why is this varmint posting even on the N-400 and AOS forums down to MENA?

I really hope that VJ sets a daily post limit, like 50 max or another reasonable number. If you wanna post more, you have to pay $5 for 100 posts. Well, Zynga makes money from virtual goods. Mayhap Ewok can give them a run for their money. After all, whoever spends the whole day doing nothing else but post on VJ must be keeping lots of $$$$$$$. VJ should milk them.

Oh, you sneaky little Capitalist, you.

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself
