I have searched for other similar queries, but not found anything that's recent and definitive!

I entered the US on k1-visa, now we are married and it's time to file for AOS.

My query is regards 3 tax returns. My husband can only find the last 2 years. So we have those, plus pay-slips.

I know we can order transcripts from the IRS, which I believe take around 10 days to arrive.

My worry is, I desperately want to get permission to travel sorted out, as I have to be able to travel to the UK at the beginning of October. My understanding is, that currently it takes around 65-70 days for that to be approved, so I really wanted to get the AOS forms sent out by the end of this week. Leaving it another 10 plus days is getting me nervous!

Can we send it with just info / copies from the last 2 tax returns? Or should we just get the transcripts ordered, and wait the 10 days, and hope I get the permission to travel back in time!

I don't have / need a joint sponsor. His earning are above the level asked for.

Apply for AP with the AOS application so you can travel, lately AOS is taking longer than it used to and AP would be quick so you could travel, I would wait for the transcripts.

Besides we got our transcripts in 4 days when requesting for them just recently.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

yeah, I was going to apply for AP with AOS, that's why I wanted to know about the tax returns. Just concerned about not getting permission to travel in time.

Ok, you had not mentioned it in your post that you were applying for it.

But yes, I would wait for the transcripts but thats me, its more or less your choice as to what you want to do.

If you don't have the AP by that time yet for whatever reason and have to leave soon make an infopass and request a stamp in your passport because you have to travel.

You only need the most recent tax return or transcript

I don't think that is the case is it? On the form it says to send a copy of the most recent, and then fill in the total income for the 3 most recent years on the form. That bit isn't marked as optional.

There is an 'optional' bit, but that is for checking if you send in photocopies of all 3 tax returns.

Post violating TOS has been removed along with 2 posts quoting the removed post have been removed.:

Condone or instruct, either directly or indirectly, others on how to commit fraudulent or illegal immigration activities in any way, shape, manner or method.
Acceptable parts of those two posts are returned to the thread below:

While it worked for you, I do not suggest people (edited to read: put false information) for their income on a government document.

Wait for the transcripts, OP.

I reported this post to a moderator and I hope it gets deleted. (edited to add 'suggesting false information") on an affidavit is perjury and terrible advice.
